Planning your presentation
• Your message, Start by identifying the core ideas that you want to communicate and organizing the facts you will need to support them, use text, images, sounds to convey the information clearly
• Your audience, The most important consideration is planning a presentation is knowing who you are presenting it to. Is this for technical or for non technical

Planning your presentation
• Your medium, Decide your medium, conventional photographic slides or over head projector transparencies, 8 x10 projection screen effectively convey much more information
• Room size and lighting, All things being equal larger the room, larger the type and images you used. If the lights will be dimmed during the talk, consider going with light color slide background, to help lighten the room and enable your audience to see you and ideally, pay more attention to what you are saying

Starting new presentation
• Power Point ask you for opening a new or existing
• On selecting new Presentation it offers you to choose from one of 27 Auto slide’s Layouts

Disabling the startup and New slide Dialog boxes
• If you almost always create the same type of presentation then turn off this new slide or open existing file option– Tools Options View clear the check
boxes of Power Point (Start up) and new slide
• You can also check the choice labeled Don’t show this Dialog box again in either dialog box to suppress that box from now on

• Working with Views– Normal, Divide into 3 resizable pane– Slide Sorter, Display thumbnail miniature of all slides
in the presentation– Note Page, Display an editable print preview of your
speaker notes– Slide Show, This slide show is crucial for testing and
giving presentation, but you can’t edit the slide
• Clicking these button gives you an alternative way to switch between different view

• To show the handout master of the Slide, Outline and Slide sorter view, use the following keyboard shortcuts– Shift + Click Normal Slide view icon– Shift + Click Outline view icon– Shift + Click Slide Sorter view icon
