ADDENDUM NO. 2 PROJECT: Proposal for Sidewalk Gap and Infill Engineering PROPOSALS DUE: Friday, July 27, 2018 10:00 am This addendum is issued prior to the receipt of proposals to amend the RFP as follows:

1. BIDDER’S REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Q. Do CAD drawings need to follow Traverse City Engineering CAD standards? A. Not necessarily but the drawings shall be in AutoCAD format with a coherent and

intuitive layer scheme. Please do not attach blocks to points. Production line work (lines meant to be printed on a plan) shall be 2D only. Production line work shall not be attached to surfaces (TIN, DTM etc.). Surfaces shall be provided in XML format in addition to the surfaces being in the DWG file. Consultant shall prepare point files (PNEZD comma delimited). DWG file shall not contain exploded blocks or points. XREF’s and shortcuts shall be kept to a minimum. Provide plot style tables and line type files for printing.

Q. We were finalizing our numbers and see that item 6 under “Submittal of

Proposals” states: “All proposals submitted must also include a separate cost breakdown by Hours and Cost for each location.” If this is required, what locations is the City referring to? Each sidewalk location? Or each work block such as “TCAPS Traverse Heights School District”, “East Front Indian Neighborhood” and South Garfield Avenue”?

A. As a minimum provide cost breakdowns per scope item listed in the RFP. Q. How many hours per day do you expect the consultant to be onsite during

construction? A. The City has had success in minimizing our time onsite on other projects by

providing the Contractor with clear and concise direction as far as where the sidewalk should be constructed and staking the ROW and good communication with adjacent property owners. We’ve attached plans and sketches we’ve used in the past for areas where AutoCAD designs and constructing staking were not needed. During construction the Consultant should plan on at least one site visit per work day to answer any questions the Contractor may have and to prepare an Inspection Daily Report with pay items.

Q. If the sidewalk is only on one side of the road is mapping from the center line over to the row on that side acceptable?

A. Yes

All other conditions of this Request for Proposals remain the same. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum. Acknowledgement must be shown in the spaces provided herein and must be received with the bid, Friday, July 27, 2018 10:00 AM., local time, at the place of bid opening at the office of The City Engineer, 400 Boardman Avenue, Traverse City, MI. 49684.
