The medical device mAG204 model (after called “device”) has beendesigned and constructed for use as an equipment forMagnetotherapy in clinics, for domestic use at home or in the out-patients departments.

the medical clinical application is:

•The magnetotherapy as stimulant of tissue repairing and antiphlogi-stic. For these applications, this is a medical device CE marked following the 93/42/CEE law about medical devices. This mark has been given by the appropriate organization Cermet (notice no. 0476).

• In order to ensure correct use of the product, the area in which themachine is installed must have the electric system in accordancewith safety regulations in force.

• It is fundamental that the equipment be used in accordance withthe instructions for use provided in this manual. The manufacturerwill not assume any civil or criminal liability for any improper use.This manual should therefore be read carefully before installing andusing equipment.

It’s forbidden the use of this device in the following cases:

• On patients with pace-makers or severe cardiac problems;• Women in the course of pregnancy;• On persons generally not self-sufficient;• People with neoplasia;• People with tuberculosis;• The equipment must be used by people capable of understanding

and will;• Equipment is not authorised for children or minors’s use;• Avoid using the magnetic spreaders in the area around the eyes

(within 3 cm of the latter).

UNAUTHORISED USES

• Consultation with personal doctors is recommended for medical pro-grammes to establish times and frequency of treatments. The equip-ment has been pre-programmed for recommended set-times.

• The medical device must be used following the EMC indications.• Don’t use the device under or near others devices; if that is needed,

be sure the device works properly.• In case a treatment is made on a sensitive area of the body, it is

recommended to interpose between the skin and the magneticspreader, the supplied elastic band.

• A contemporaneusly connection between a patient to an electrosur-gery device at high frequency, can damage the device.

• All metal objects in the vicinity of electrodes (chains, rings etc) mustbe removed before starting treatment.

• Do not use equipment in the vicinity of machines using short waveor microwave treatments, or in the vicinity of mobile or cellular pho-nes.

WARNINGS AND LIMITATIONS FOR USE

• At no time must equipment be used underneath covers or materialin general. Equipment must always be visible when in use and mustnot be used within its bag or packaging.

• All materials must only be used for the function specified on con-signment. The manufacturer will not accept any responsibility forimproper use of materials used to wire the equipment, nor forimproper use of packaging material and manual.

• Great care must be taken with the device which must also be keptextremely clean. No specific precautions are required for thoseperiods when the device is not in use for long periods, as long as thearea in which the device is stored is clean, free of dust and at a tem-perature between 0 and 50 degrees centigrade which is the tempe-rature required for the correct use of the machine. The device andall accessories must be kept away from sources of heat and areaswhich carry a potential fire risk. At no time the equipmente must beused in the presence of gas or inflammable vapours, nor in the oxy-gen chambers. The device must not be used in water or areas whichare particularly humid.

• Do not place containers with liquids or spill any liquids on top of themachine.

• Do not use the power supply feeder in the event that it should acci-dentally get wet.

• For a normal functioning, the machine should be placed on a large,horizontal, flat surface (such as a table, dressing table etc..) to avoidaccidental fall.

• It is important to use original accessories. These must be replacedwith original spare parts as soon as they show signs of deterioration.

• the manufacturer does not accept any responsibility for the use ofaccessories that have not been supplied by the manufacturer itself.

• For safety reasons, the device will automatically turn off after 60minutes when not in use.

• Treatments used with this device are neither toxic nor penetrative.• This device can be used for therapeutic functions for certain specific

programmes. Given the different physical conditions of persons, werecommend each person using the machine to consult their perso-nal doctor for each and any query.

• If you note that the device doesn’t work properly, please contact themanufacturer (for example it is abnormal if one or more yellow ledsof the exits are switch on when the power is zero).

• ATTENTION: if the plug of the magnetic spreader isn’t properlyinserted, for safety the device automatically stops to work enteringin pause; it will be necessary to insert it in the right position andrestart the treatment.

Carefully read the instructions referring to each treatment youchoose; prepare the necessary accessories and apply the magneticspreaders as illustrated.Plug the jacks of the spreaders into the output sockets of the channelyou intend to use.

INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO MAKE A TREATMENT

Select the program you want to do, pressing the “Programs” buttonsyou can see in the left side; each time you press a button the displaywill show the program name and a description of the number of steps.

For a faster selection, please read the programs’ list to determine thetreatment you want to carry out.

Confirm the selection of the program by pressing the “Start P/R” but-ton; the Pulse led turns on.

PROGRAMMING

Plug the power lead into a 220 Volt household electric socket and thenconnect it to the socket in the back of the appliance.

Press the “on/off ” button on the left-hand panel.The device will immediately run a rapid Autotest and after a fewseconds the display will show the message “Select the Program” andwill beep twice; it is now ready for use all 4 channels.To run two different programs at the same time, press the “on/off ”button on the right-hand panel.important: when selecting, only press one button at a time.

The total time of each treatment is already set automatically and it cannot be changed.

TREATMENTÊS DURATION

For starting the treatment press the “start/stop” button of the chan-nel you want to use. The same button must be pressed when it isnecessary to stop the treatment on that specific channel.

STARTING THE TREATMENT

To temporarily suspend a treatment in progress press “start P/r”; Toresume the program press the same button again and then the“Start/Stop” button of the used channel.

PAUSING THE TREATMENT

To interrupt a treatment in progress keep the “start P/r” button pres-sed for three seconds, then choose another treatment using“Programs” buttons.

STOP THE TREATMENT

POWER OF THE TREATMENT

The most suitable power of each treatment is already set and it cannot be changed.

The device gives a beep when the treatment time is complete: switchoff the machine by the “on/off” button. Put the used accessories.The medical device has a built-in safety that switches it off automati-cally 60 minutes after the end of the last treatment or button pressed.Page 23 illustrates a map of the muscle anatomy of a human body.You can use it as an aid to place the accessories for all mAG204 treat-ments.

END OF TREATMENT

No special precautions have to be taken when the appliance is notused for a long period so long as it is kept in a clean, dust-free placeand at temperatures within a range of -10 and 70 °C.

STORAGE

To set the language, keep pressed the “Language” button till you seeon the display the writing “Language Selection”, then press the“Programs” buttons here near till the appearance on the diplay of thewanted language, in that moment press the “start P/r button” toconfirm. At this point all display messages will be given in that lan-guage. To change the selection, repeat this procedure.

HOW TO DO BEFORE CONTACTING THE AFTER SALES SERVICE

IMPORTANT: with this device there is the possibility to use two different programs simultaneously,as if you would have at your disposal two completely indipendent devices; so the user can choose to carryout two different treatments or use the device with another person, each one by selecting the favouriteprogram. In order to enable this option:• Turn on the machine by pressing the “on/off” button, placed in the left area;• Insert the right accessory/accessories for the program you need to execute in channel 1 and 2;• Select the desired program for example program number 04 "Arthritis";• Press the button "on/off" which is up right on the device;• Insert the right accessory/accessories for the program you need to execute in channel 3 and 4;• Select the desired program for example program number 27 “Ankle Pain”;• Channels 1 and 2 are ready to execute "Arthritis", on the other hand channels 3 and 4 start "Ankle Pain";• To run both programs, press one after the other both buttons “Start P/R” on the keyboard. The two

lights "Pulse" turn on;• To increase power, press “Start/Stop” of the channels you need to use. The light of the enabled

channels turns on.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS OF USE

• The device has two magnetic spreaders, that are formed by a positivepole (+) and a negative pole (-), shown here near.

• You must always pay attention to connect the magnetic spreaders exclusively when Magnetotherapy programs are used (on the other side the same device can be damaged), respecting the polarities of applications as illustrated in the pictures.

• The magnetic spreaders can be applied also over the clothes or the plasterparts, it is not needed they touch the skin.

• Avoid to apply the spreaders directly at contact with wounds and ulcers.• Insert the jack of each magnetic spreader used in the available exits.• During the working no vibration is felt as the generated magnetic field

cannot be detected without especial devices.• Important: to avoid possible problems to the device connect the jack of

the magnetic spreader in the exit (for example n. 1) before and thenstart the treatment; the jack cannot be extracted during the treatment(if there is the necessity to disconnect the spreader from the device,pulse before the button “Start P/R” or turn off the device through thebutton “on/off”.

• The answer of our body to this treatment is different from each of us.• As for the quantity of sessions, normally the repetition of the treatment

of 1/2 times a day is in the average satisfactory. It is suggested to consultyour doctor for any doubts and in order to state the repetition of thetreatments.

• On page 23 it is illustrated the map of the muscular bands of the humanbody that can be followed for

In order to have the maximum efficacy it is necessary that the spreaders arepositioned over the area of the body to treat, respecting the polarity indi-cated in the instructions of treatment.In some cases the position of the magnetic spreader can decide the successor the failure of a treatment of Magnetotherapy.

It is possible to use one or two spreaders at the same time.

It is suggested to use maximum two magnetic spreaders at the same time.

In case of use of a spreader lay on the peel the positive side (+) (see forexample the application over the hand).

In case of use of two opposite spreaders (for example one over the palmand the other over the back of the hand) lay on the peel of one the positi-ve side (+) and of the other the negative side (-).

In case of the use of two near spreaders lay on the peel the positive side (+)of both the spreaders (see for example the application over the cervicalarea).

The spreaders can be inserted when possible under the elastic belts in theequipment; when the belts have the pockets, the spreader should be inser-ted in these pockets.

The device has in the equipment two types of belts to choose consideringthe zone to treat:

• short elastic belt when possible insert only one spreader• long elastic belt when possible insert two spreader

It is possible to use the spreaders also with bio-accessories suitable to thearea to treat by inserting the spreader in the right spreader-support (seephoto as in the example). The treatment in this way is more effective.

For those who want to take the best advantage from the potentialities ofMAG204 by taking wider the spreading of the magnetic field and also forthe treatment of a larger area, they have been studied some bio-accessoriesthat can be used as replacements of the magnetic spreaders. It is suggestedto select the most adequate bio-accessory to the zone to treat, as suggestedhere below. All the accessories are made up of breathable material withantibacterial treatment.Attention: because of their particular composition bio-accessories shouldbe washed vacuum following the instructions on the label.

In order to obtain the best results it is suggested, if possible, to use at thesame time magnetic spreaders and bio-accessories (see instructions“Positioning of the spreaders with the bio-accessories”).Programs to use are the same, to choose in accordance with the area andthe pathology to treat.• Lay in a comfortable position.• Connect the bio-accessory to the device through the given cable (the

jack should be inserted into one of the available exits, the button shouldbe applied directly to the bio-accessory).

• Confirm the choice of the program by pulsing the button “Start P/R”.• In order to start the treatment increase the power of the used channel

through the adequate buttons.
