Guide to connecting to Quicken® Quicken® for Mac Personal Finance Software Quicken Account Conversion Instructions

As we continue to update BMO Harris Online BankingSM you may need to modify your Quicken settings before attempting to download transactions from BMO Harris Online Banking.

It is important that you perform the following instructions in Quicken exactly as described and in the order presented. It should take 10 minutes to complete all instructions.

Intuit has provided the following instructions that will help you maintain consistency in your Quicken register. BMO Harris provides these instructions as a courtesy to its customers and does not assume responsibility for any inaccuracies. If you have any questions as you work through these instructions, please contact your Quicken product support help desk.

Please select the instructions needed according to the Quicken version you use:

Quicken for Mac 2005 – 2007: Deposit and Credit Card Accounts

Step 1: Back up your current data

1. Click the File menu.

2. Select Back Up.

3. Select your preferred backup method.

4. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the backup method you choose.

Step 2: Download the latest Quicken update

1. From your Quicken menu select Check for Updates.

2. If a software update is available, then you will be prompted to download the update from the Quicken Web site.

3. Once the update is complete, restart Quicken.

Step 3: Disable M&I Deposit and Credit Card accounts in Quicken

1. Choose Lists menu.

2. Select Check for Accounts.

3. Select the M&I – Personal Online Banking account you want to disable.

4. Click Edit.

5. In the Download transactions: drop-down list, select not enabled. Click OK to the prompt, “You are about to disable…”

6. Click OK to save your edits.

Step 4: Enable your converted BMO Harris Deposit accounts in Quicken

Note: The financial institution is set to BMO Harris Bank N.A. – Retail, SB and should remain the same once Quicken modifications are made.

1. Log in to BMO Harris Online Banking at www.bmoharris.com.



2. Download your BMO Harris transactions into Quicken utilizing the Date Range option to select the starting date from which you would like to download transactions.

3. Click the Use an existing Quicken BMO account radio button.

4. Select the corresponding existing Quicken account in the dropdown list.

5. Click OK.

6. Repeat steps 2 and 5 for each account that you wish to download from BMO Harris Online Banking.

7. Once the first download is complete for all BMO Harris accounts click Lists menu to select Accounts.

Note: Verify that each account at BMO Harris Bank N.A. - Retail, SB has a blue online circle indicating that it has been reactivated for online services.

Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each M&I – Personal Online Banking deposit account. As each online account is disabled, its blue online circle icon disappears. Verify that your account list does not display blue online circle icons for any M&I – Personal deposit accounts.

Step 5: Enable your converted BMO Harris Credit Card accounts in Quicken

Note: The financial institution is set to BMO Harris Bank National Assoc. and should remain the same once Quicken modifications are made.

1. Log in to BMO Harris Online Banking for Credit Cards at https://www.bmoharriscreditcards.com/BMO_Harris_Consumer/Login.do.

2. Download your credit card transactions into Quicken.

3. Click the Use an existing Quicken BMO account radio button.

4. Select the corresponding existing Quicken account in the drop-down list.

5. Click OK.

6. Repeat steps 2 and 5 for each credit card account that you wish to download from BMO Harris Online Banking.

7. Once the first download is complete for all BMO Harris accounts click Lists menu to select Accounts.

Note: Verify that each account at BMO Harris Bank National Assoc. has a blue online circle indicating that it has been reactivated for online services.

Quicken Essentials: Deposit and Credit Card Accounts Step 1: Back up your current data

1. Click on the File menu.

1. Select the desired account under the Accounts header on the left side of the screen.

2. Click Setting located at the bottom right of the screen.

3. Remove the checkmark from I want to download transactions, located in the At Your Financial Institution section.

4. Click Save.

5. Click Continue when asked to confirm this deactivation.

Note: Repeat steps 1 through 5 for each M&I – Personal Online Banking deposit and credit card accounts.

Step 4: Enable your converted BMO Harris Deposit accounts in Quicken Essentials

Note: The financial institution is set to BMO Harris Bank N.A. – Retail, SB and should remain the same once Quicken modifications are made.


2. Click the Setting icon located at the bottom right of the screen.



3. In the At your Financial Institution section:

a. Click the “I want to download transactions” box.

b. Click the List… button in the Financial Institution field.

c. Select BMO Harris Bank N.A. – Retail, SB; click Continue.

d. Select Quicken Connect for the Connection Type.

4. Click Save.

5. Click the Update icon on the bottom right of the screen.

6. Enter your Login Credentials for your BMO Harris Online Banking access.

7. Link each online account to account(s) in Quicken.

8. Click Continue.

Repeat steps 1 through 8 for each additional BMO Harris Bank National Assoc. account

Step 5: Enable your converted BMO Harris Credit Card accounts in Quicken Essentials

Note: The financial institution is set to BMO Harris Bank National Assoc. and should remain the same once Quicken modifications are made.

c. Select BMO Harris Bank National Assoc.; click Continue.

6. Enter your Login Credentials for your BMO Harris Credit Card access.

7. Link each online account to account(s) in Quicken.

8. Click Continue.
