They can also use more volunteers. Make a difference. Join this wonderful ministry! Haiti, August 1-8, 2016 KBC will go on its third mission trip to Haiti, August 1-8, 2016. The main project is leading the 30+ orphans in the Source de Lumiere orphanage in a VBS-like experience. There is music, stories, and recreation. We need volunteers in all areas. We will have about eight training sessions, and the team will be reading a book together about international short-term mission projects. It is very important for participants to take the training sessions seriously. These help prepare us for the work God is calling us to do. This year, we will include ESL (English as a Second Language). In order to increase our impact on the lives of the people we want to help, each team member will offer one-on-one ESL tutoring for people in the orphanage. We will focus on the children, but house parents and others who want to learn will be welcome. An ESL instructor at Ball State University will provide ESL training one evening per month via Skype for the team so we will be better prepared when we get to Haiti. The cost is approximately $1,000 per person. We will have fundraisers, and we do not want to exclude anyone who God is calling. Do not let the cost be a deterrent. Space is limited. We will give preference to members of KBC and people who have not been before. So, act now. If you want to go, tell me immediately. I would like to have our team roster by J a n u a r y 1 7 . Since this is an international trip, youth must have a parent who is going on the trip. https://lisaspiers5k.org
