STEELFAB 2018 – INAUGURATION CEREMONY

The four-day exhibition was inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of the Department of Government Relations, in the presence of H.E. Abdalla Sultan Mohamed Al Owais, Chairman, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Expo Centre Sharjah; H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah; other officials, dignitaries and industry representatives.

The 14th SteelFab 2018 showcased nearly 290 plus exhibitors who displayed close to 1,000 brands from 23 countries

through special segments such as Stainless Steel, Wear Resistant & Hard Facing Cladding, Welding & Cutting,

Machine Tools, Pipe & Tube Machinery, seminars & technical presentations and live displays, with 7,123 Trade

Visitors from more than 81 countries.

The third edition of a dedicated vertical for the fastener and fixing industry -- Fasteners World Middle East – being

held alongside SteelFab, which also features Italian, German and Taiwan pavilions, enjoys support from leading

industry associations from Italy, Germany, Taiwan and the UK.

Technical seminars on January 16 and 17 were spread across 22 sessions, taking up topics such as Autonomous

Machines, It Is Your Self-Driving Car at Your Shop Floor. (SALVAGNINI), High-Speed Five Axis Machining Of Parts

STEELFAB SUCCESS SETS TONE FOR 2018 AT EXPO CENTRE SHARJAH

The 14th edition of the region’s premier metal working, metal manufacturing and steel fabrication trade fair – SteelFab 2018 – has given a great start for Expo Centre Sharjah in the New Year. During its four days, SteelFab featured 290 plus exhibitors representing nearly 1000 brands from across the world, a series of special focus areas, special pavilions, new segments, live displays, technical seminars and product presentations.



“SteelFab 2018 once again went to show why it is considered the best event in the region for the metal working,

metal manufacturing and steel fabrication industry. By hosting close to 290 Plus exhibitors from 28 countries and

attracting 7,123 trade visitors from scores of countries, the show has reinforced its position as the largest and most

attended event of its kind in the region,” said H.E. Abdalla Sultan Mohamed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah

Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Expo Centre Sharjah.

“SteelFab has always been a gathering point of the regional industry. Now, we have gone a step ahead and become the voice of the industry by launching the Fabricators Forum, which aims to encourage dialogue, discuss issues, explore opportunities and find ways to tap them,” said H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah.

The upturn in industry turnout was aided by promising macro-economic conditions, apart from a vibrant construction and infrastructure sector that is the lifeline of the fabrication industry.

For the first time in almost two years, the price of oil has climbed to its highest level of close to US$69 per barrel. With analysts expecting the prices to rise, the UAE and the other oil-producing regional countries are expected to benefit in a big way. Besides, after years of sluggish growth, the UAE economy is expected to grow at 3.4% this year; and the introduction of value-added tax is set to further strengthen the economy, setting the stage for a rise in orders for regional steel fabricators. With less than 1,000 days to go for the Expo 2020, and mega projects like the Dhs 2.4 billion Maryam Island, SteelFab 2018 also witnessed the launch of the Middle East Fabricators Awards 2019, which will recognize organizations that demonstrate leadership and innovation from both the private and public sectors. In a first, SteelFab 2018 played host to the launch of the Essen Welding & Cutting Pavilion, an offshoot of a tie-up between EXPO CENTRE SHARJAH and MESSE ESSEN, organiser of Europe’s SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN fair. Besides, pipes and tubes machinery & tools were in focus this time too, thanks to the support of the International Tube Association from Germany for the second consecutive year.



NEW TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHED FOR THE MIDDLE EAST AT STEELFAB 2018 YES MACHINERY

Pipe Alignment Trolley (PAT) is a mobile positioner, combining jig action and clamping for all pipe configurations from 3” to 16” and for all industrial sectors. It is a time-saving and labor-saving alternative to traditional pipe clamps.

We have also transformed the process of pipe fabricating by developing the Pipe Fitting Center Finder, a first in pipe alignment. A unique tool for marking the center line of pipes and fittings, including the eccentric reducer, which has been difficult for pipe fitters over the years. The Pipe Fitting Center Finder makes the task quicker and more accurate. By introducing the Pipe Alignment Vice alongside the Pipe Fitting Center Finder, productivity will increase in every fabrication shop.

NUOVA PATAVIUM

The Nuova Patavium Pipe Facing Machine (PFM) was developed to machine the complex bevel required by the automatic welding system. It can be used to make bevels on pipes ranging from 4” to 84” in diameter

This is our first time at SteelFab we are exhibiting, High Quality Rotamatic plating system- this equipment is extensively used for metal plating on various types of material. It comes with numerous attributes like easy operation, rigid structure, flawless performance, and long functional life. Our offered system is easy to install and requires very low maintenance. Functioning: the jigs are carried on a moving chain and the speed of traverse is adjusted so that work is returned to the starting point by the end of the plating time. The jigs thus can be loaded and un-loaded at the same point and the work is handled in a continuous flow rather than batch loads, which is done in normal plating.
