the general education and upper level nursing requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree; the middle two years will be devoted to nursing stud-ies at LCCC, at either the main Nan-ticoke campus or LCCC’s downtown Wilkes-Barre campus, located just steps away from King’s College. These courses will include laboratory courses and clinical studies. Additional core courses will be taken at King’s during years two and three. Nursing students may participate in King’s NCAA sports
The new King’s/LCCC Dual Degrees in Nursing (DDN) offers
students a seamless route to earn-ing the BS in nursing degree in just four years. The DDN is tailored to the traditional-aged first-year college students seeking a four-year degree in nursing. Both King’s and LCCC are well regarded by students interested in careers in the health science fields. In fact, a branding study commissioned by the College in 2014 found that King’s enjoys an outstanding reputa-tion among prospective students as a great school for allied health pro-grams. The offering of the Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing adds an important new dimension to the Col-lege’s allied health portfolio, providing yet another avenue for students inter-ested in careers in health care.
A Joint EffortThe 1-2-1 Dual Degrees in Nurs-
ing is based on students doing course work on both campuses. It offers a unique dual-degree partnership that allows students to receive two degrees, an AS and a BS in nursing, in four years. Students will spend the first and fourth years at King’s completing
and live on the King’s campus through-out the entirety of the program.
A Path to SuccessAt the end of the third year, stu-
dents will take the National Council Licensure Examination for registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). During the final year, students articulate as full-time students into the King's RN to BS in Nursing program to complete BS-level nursing courses and any out-standing core courses.
