Jonah experiences snow for the first time. Notes from the Teacher . I would like to encourage everyone in the class to work on Xtramath each night if possible. We are making progress but repeated practice will be a great help. I receive an email every Monday morning that tells me who practiced and how they did. Many weeks the only practice that’s done is we have some extra computer time in the lab. Thanks for your help with this. Our reentry was pretty good and now that we have a week under our belts we are back in the groove. We are finishing up our math unit this week on geometry. The next unit is on addition and subtraction word problems. Also we are finishing up our social studies unit on the natural resources of Michigan and will move on to a Science unit. Our personal narratives are almost done and ready to be shared with the class. We don’t give too much time to cursive, but I still think it’s important for the children to learn how to write in cursive and to be able to read cursive. So we are almost done with the lower case and will soon start the upper case letters. Great job on all the minutes read for December BOOK-IT! Snow Clothes

Playing in the snow at recess is great fun and your children are well outfitted with the proper clothes. For those who did not have their name in their snow pants I let them use a Sharpie to do write their name. It would help if other clothes and boots could be marked too. It’s amazing the things that are left behind that belong to “no one.”
