What is …. Bright Beginnings - by invitation only, a rolling programme for parents covering some of the key issues in the early days of parenting and the value of loving touch (baby massage). Early Support - a group to support families who have a child with additional needs or who have concerns about their child’s development. Access to the sensory room and resources available. Family First - a parent-led group to support carers who have a child with additional needs. A crèche is available. Young Parents One Stop Shop - a drop in group for parents and their children to play and learn together and access a wide range of professionals - including health visitors, healthy lifestyles and housing. Messy Play - an opportunity for parents, babies and children to learn together through creative play. Come and stimulate senses through a wide variety of fun activities suitable for children aged 0-5 years. Sign, Rhyme & Storytime - join in with songs and stories and learn signs to encourage your child to express themselves and develop their communication skills. Open to all children from 0- 5 years old. Stay and Play - an opportunity for parents, babies and children to play and learn together through exciting activities. Come and meet with other parents with children of the same age. Suitable for children aged 0-5 years. The Sensory Room - spend time exploring with your child in our relaxing environment which provides an opportunity to stimulate your child’s senses. Job Centre Plus - Job Centre Plus offer their mandatory lone parent assessment appointments at Midsomer Norton Children’s Centre every Monday from 9:00am - 3:00pm. If you or a member of your family is claiming a work related benefit then you can take advantage of numerous personal and employment support services. Your own allocated Key Family Mentor can support you to access a wide range of training courses to help you gain the knowledge and qualifications you need, find work experience opportunities. improve your interview skills, manage your money, manage health conditions so you can find lasting employment. Your Health Visitor, Parent Support Adviser or Children’s Centre Outreach Worker can help you access the Families Action Programme.
