3. Her father was a VERY WEALTHY BUSINESSMAN

4. What was her job after her father’s death? TAKING OVER THE BUSINESS

Was she good at it? YES NO

How do we know? WHEN SHE TOOK OVER, THE BUSINESS MADE MORE MONEY

THAN EVER.

5. What did she do with all of her money? HELPED THE POOR, THE WIDOWS, THE ORPHANS,

THE SICK, AND THE DISABLED.

7. Did Bibi Khadijah (a.s) believe in idols? YES NO

So what did she believe in? ONE GOD

But there was no Islam!?!? EVEN THEN, SHE KNEW BELIEVING IN IDOLS WAS

WRONG AND THAT’S WHY SHE ACCEPTED ISLAM QUICKLY.

8. One of her titles was: TAHIRA, which means, THE PURE ONE.

9. One year, Bibi Khadijah (a.s) was looking for A BUSINESS PARTNER.

At the same time, Abu Talib (a.s) was looking for A JOB FOR PROPHET

MUHAMMAD (SAW)

So the Prophet APPLIED FOR THE JOB

and even though he didn’t have lots of experience, HE WAS HIRED.

Why?? BECAUSE BIBI KHADIJAH (A.S) HAD HEARD THAT HE WAS

HONEST, DEDICATED, AND HAD EXCELLENT AKHLAQ.

10. In fact, the first year that the Prophet worked there, the business WAS MORE SUCCESSFUL

THAN EVER.

11. Bibi Khadijah (a.s) wanted TO GET MARRIED.

Because she was very rich, many PRINCES AND NOBLES and asked her to marry them.

BUT, she said ( YES NO ) because SHE WAS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

WAS A GOOD PERSON, NOT JUST RICH.

She asked a friend to go to the Prophet to SUGGEST THAT HE GET MARRIED TO HER.

BUT, the Prophet did not think that A RICH WOMAN LIKE HER WOULD MARRY A

POOR MAN LIKE HIM.

He talked to Abu Talib (a.s) about this proposal, and told him that HE ADMIRED BIBI

KHADIJAH’S CHARACTER AND MORALS.

So, Abu Talib (a.s) went to ask Bibi Khadijah (a.s) to marry the Prophet. Did she accept the

proposal? YES NO

When they got married, how old were the Prophet and Bibi Khadijah (a.s)

12. After they got married, THE PROPHET RAN THE BUSINESS.

13. When the Prophet received his first revelation, Bibi Khadijah (a.s) BELIEVED HIM

IMMEDIATELY.

And so, she became THE FIRST WOMAN TO ACCEPT ISLAM.

13. The Prophet and Bibi Khadijah had 3 children. Their names were:

a. QASIM

b. ABDULLAH

c. FATIMA

Sadly, his 2 sons WHEN THEY WERE VERY YOUNG.

This made the Prophet VERY SAD, and when Imam Ali (a.s) was born, HE TREATED HIM

LIKE HIS OWN SON.

14. At that time, people believed that the only way to pass on your family name was through having a

son. Why? BECAUSE THE LAST NAME WOULD CONTINUE THROUGH MARRIAGE.

15. So the evil people among the Quraysh MADE FUN OF THE PROPHET.

This made the Prophet VERY SAD, and All-h (swt) revealed this ayat to him:

“Verily those who mocked you shall be cut.”

This ayat is from SURA AL-KAUTHAR, ayat 3.

To be cut means that YOUR FAMILY NAME WILL BE FORGOTTEN OVER THE

YEARS.

BUT, even though the Prophet only had a daughter, she gave BIRTH TO OUR IMAMS, AND

SHE AND THE PROPHET WILL BE REMEMBERED FOREVER.

16. Bibi Khadijah (a.s) gave ALL of her money to HELPING MUSLIMS.

She used it to: a. FREE MANY SLAVES

b. HELP SOME MUSLIMS ESCAPE TO SUDAN

17. Bibi Khadijah (a.s) died on 10TH RAMADHAN 10 A.H. It was the same year that Abu Talib (a.s)

had died. This made the Prophet VERY SAD. He called that year AAMUL HUZN, which means, THE

YEAR OF GRIEF.

18. Who did the Prophet say were the 4 women who were the best of all women?

02. ABU TALIB (A.S)

1. Abu Talib (a.s) was THE PROPHET’S UNCLE. He took care of him after the Prophet’s

GRANDFATHER DIED.

2. Abu Talib (a.s) treated the Prophet BETTER THAN HIS OWN SONS.

3. He also believed in the Prophet’s PURITY AND EXCELLENCE.

4. He taught the Prophet HOW TO CONDUCT BUSINESS and helped him get his first job with BIBI

KHADIJAH. He also HELPED SET-UP THEIR MARRIAGE.

5. Abu Talib (a.s) was a CHIEF IN THE QURAYSH TRIBE.

BUT, because he supported the Prophet and the evil Quraysh didn’t like the Prophet, Abu Talib

(a.s) LOST A LOT OF HIS POWER.

Even then, he still was ONE OF THE PROPHET’S BIGGEST SUPPORTERS.

One example of this is that to protect the Prophet, he would MAKE ONE OF HIS CHILDREN

SLEEP IN THE PROPHET’S BED.

6. The Prophet (saw) was VERY SAD when his uncle died, since he had taken care of the Prophet for

MORE THAN 50 YEARS. Like we said before, the year that Abu Talib (a.s) and Bibi Khadijah (a.s)

died was named AAMUL-HUZN (THE YEAR OF GRIEF).
