1 - INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY The sunray shines through the window, lighting up a tiny but well-organized living room. The apartment looks blue and cold. The wall is covered with aged wallpaper. There are some black and white photos of two young guys. Around the corner stands an acoustic guitar. Someone opens the door. One of the guys in those photos comes in. He is older now. Behind him is a young woman in a colorful dress.

WOMAN Oh, your apartment looks nice!

KEVIN Drink? WOMAN

Just water. Thanks. Kevin disappears into the kitchen. The woman walks around the living room until she notices the pictures. WOMAN

Kevin, who is the … Before she finishes her sentence, she sees the guitar in the corner and walks to it. WOMAN

Hey, I didn’t know you play music too.

She moves her finger to the strings and tries to make a sound. Kevin now appears from the kitchen. He stands silently with the glass of water in his hands. He stares at the woman for a second. Then suddenly he bellows at her with rage. KEVIN

Keep your hand away from it! WOMAN (scared and doesn’t know how to react)

I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to…

KEVIN Get out!

WOMAN I’m sorry, really.

KEVIN

Out! Now! He pushes her out of the apartment and slams the door. Still governed by anger, he sits on the sofa and hides his face with both hands.

FADE OUT.

FADE IN. 2 - INT. LIVING ROOM. NIGHT. Kevin hears music from a room. He follows the sound to the room and finds his older brother CHRIS sitting on the dark red carpet, playing the acoustic guitar. Compared to the living room, this bedroom is warm and full of life. Kevin silently enters the room. Chris turns around his head and smile to him.

DISSOLVE TO. 3 – INT. KITCHEN IN THE APARTMENT. DAY. On a sunny afternoon, Chris stands alone in the kitchen, reading out the instructions from a cookbook. He hesitates when he puts the ingredients into the pan. Kevin enters. KEVIN (impatiently) Man, it’s still not ready? I’m starved to death. You’re trying to kill me! CHRIS (without turning his eyes away from the cookbook) Shut up! You’re lucky to have a brother like me! After several minutes, Chris finishes the food with great confidence. Kevin tastes it and throws it out immediately.

KEVIN (showing a disgusted expression) Man, is it for humans?! You’re such an idiot!

DISSOLVE TO:

4 – INT. CHRIS’S BEDROOM. DAY. Chris is sleeping soundly. Suddenly the silence is broken by a loud noise from an alarm clock. Kevin slowly walks to Chris. His is holding the alarm clock in his hands. As the noise comes closer, Chris pulls the comforter over his ears. CHRIS (frowning) Take it away! KEVIN (giggling) Wake up, man! It’s noon! CHRIS (startled) What? Shit!! Why you didn’t wake me up an hour earlier?! Chris gets up right away and starts to get dressed. KEVIN (giggles with satisfaction) What’s the fuss? It’s Sunday! Chris stops and looks at Kevin. CHRIS (relieved) Damn… He sits back onto the bed and lies down again.

DISSOLVE TO. 5 – CHRIS’S BEDROOM. NIGHT. Kevin is playing a few notes on the guitar. He appears inexperienced. Chris is sitting next to him. CHRIS

No, no, that doesn’t work. Let me show you.

Kevin hands the guitar to Chris. Chris begins to play some beautiful tunes.

KEVIN

(frowning) I just couldn’t get it. You’re a genius!

CHRIS Really? You used to call me an idiot when I make awful food. Kevin laughs out hardly. Chris quickly puts a finger in front of his lip. CHRIS (seriously but also a little comically) Shhh…keep that secret for me. They both laugh together. 6 – LIVING ROOM. DAY. . Kevin opens his eyes. He finds himself lying on the sofa. The glass of water is still in front of him. He realizes what he has just seen are all dreams. He looks around the room. There’s no one there. The guitar is standing alone in the corner. Kevin gets up and slowly walks to the photos on the wall. Then Kevin’s eyes rest on a large headshot of Chris on a table. His eyes fill with tear. KEVIN (speaks to the headshot of Chris, trying to control his tear)

Hey pal. I’m acting like a child again. Tell me what to do.

He fixes his eyes on the photo. After a few seconds, Kevin seems to understand something. He gently touches the photo, wiping off the dust on the glass surface. KEVIN (smiles slightly) I’m lucky to have a brother like you. Hope you’re well up there. FADE OUT.
