Gathering the Goods....
Ekpene gets up every morning at dawn to collect coconuts and prepare them for the day’s sale.
Heavy Load....
Once he has finished collecting and preparing coconuts, he places them into a large basket and carries the heavy load on his head.
Making a Living....
Whenever a customer wishes to buy a coconut, he wields his machete and cuts the coconut into manageable pieces with expert precision.
Bringing Home the Bread....
At the end of the day he returns home and shares his earnings with the rest of the family, which rarely ever amount to more than the equivalent of 10 dollars CAN.
Ekpene is Only 9 Years Old.
