NITRO’S GOT YOUR BACK.Underneath the slick colours and chiseled steel are systems and
technologies that are ready to react if duty calls.
1. NITRO’S ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS)
helps prevent wheel lockup for improved steering under extreme
braking or slippery conditions.
2. MULTISTAGE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAGS* with OCS** and side-curtain air bags* with roll
sensing technology are standard on all Nitro models.
3. THE STANDARD ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (ESP™),† which includes all speed traction
control, Brake Assist and Electronic Roll Mitigation, aids drivers in
maintaining control of their vehicle during extreme steering
manoeuvres. ESP works to correct the vehicle’s course
by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes
at individual wheels. All speed traction control reduces engine
power, applies the brakes to spinning wheels and transfers
torque to the appropriate wheel when slippage is detected. Brake
Assist ensures brake efficiency during emergency brake situations.
Electronic Roll Mitigation senses when a rollover may occur and
applies braking force to the correct wheel to reduce the likelihood
of such an event.
4. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING DISPLAY
helps keep an eye on safe and proper tire pressure. An alert comes
through the Electronic Vehicle Information Centre or a warning
lamp (on SE and SXT models) when low tire pressure is detected.

H. ROOF MOUNT BIKE CARRIERS. Let’s roll. Bike Carriers feature extra-large rubber inserts to help protect bike surfaces. FORK MOUNT style carries one bike securely by the front fork and rear wheel. The UPRIGHT style carries one bike locked by the frame with both wheels secured. Designed for use with Sport Utility Bars.
I. HITCH MOUNT FOLD-DOWN BIKE CARRIERS. These convenient carriers come in Two-Bike (fits 2-inch and 11/4-inch receiver) and Four-Bike (fits 2-inch receiver) styles that fold down to allow for your vehicle’s liftgate to open without having to remove bikes from the carrier. Both styles feature carry clamps with rubber inserts, a cable to lock bikes to carrier and an antitheft bolt that locks the carrier to your vehicle.
J. ROCK RAILS. Corrosion-resistant, stylish chrome rails feature a full-length integrated rub bar for greater bodyside protection and are mounted so they don’t reduce ground clearance.

DVD REAR SEAT VIDEO.™ No lines and no waiting with this compact DVD player that plays your favorite videos, MP3s and CDs as well as popular video games. The hinged seven-inch LCD screen folds down and provides a full view for the second row passengers. Wireless headphones and remote are also included.
B. PARKSENSE™ REAR PARK ASSIST SYSTEM.* This advanced system utilizes advanced ultrasonic technology to assist you when slowly backing up your vehicle during parking manoeuvres. Four rear fascia mounted sensors emit ultrasonic sound waves to a distance of six feet. Three different warning tones and a visual alert help identify your vehicle’s distance to an object. The interior warning indicator display progressively changes illumination from green to red as you get closer to an object.
C. REMOTE START. Hit the ground running with the ability to start your Nitro from up to 800 feet away. This remote start system was designed to operate seamlessly with your vehicle’s electronic system. A two-way remote start system is also available.
