WhenyoustarttheLIFTdatamanagerforthefirsttime,theLIFTpoolmanagerapplicationcomesupfirst.

SelecttheappropriateprogramlanguageaswellastheusergroupDeveloper2.ActivatetheDefinethedatapoolsettingsmanuallyalso.ClickontheOKbuttonafterwards,theLIFTpoolmanagerdialogappearsonthescreen.

2.1 Manual Data pool creation

Aslongasyoudontregisteranyexistingorcreateanewdatapool,theLIFTdatamanagerapplicationwillnotwork.Youarefreetoregister/createasmanydatapoolsinanylocationyoulike.

2.2 LIFTdesigner 5 Data Pools

OneofthemainnewLIFTdesigner5featuresistheseparationoftheprogramdatafromthemainprogram.Inthiscontext,theprogramdataisseparatedinsocalledDataPools.ThedatapoolslocationcanbedifferentfromthelocationoftheLIFTdesigner5/LIFTdatamanagerinstallationdirectory.

ThedatapoolsprovidethedatathatisnecessarytorunthenewLIFTdesigner5/LIFTdatamanagerapplications.ThemainideaofthisconceptistobeabletoruntheLIFTdesigner5/LIFTdatamanagerprogramwithdifferent,registereddatapoolsthatmaycontaindifferentdata:

Create Export TXT file: ActivatethischeckmarkifyouwanttocreateanadditionalexportTXTfilecontainingallinformationabouttheexporteddatabasecontent.

Verify RID content: Activatethischeckmarkifyouwanttheexporteddatabasecontenttobeverifiedduringtheexportprocess.Theverificationresultwillbeaddedtothelogfilethatgetscreatedduringtheexportprocess.

Keep intermediate MDB: Enablethischeckmarkifyouwanttokeeptheintermediatemanufacturerdatabasewhichgetscreatedduringtheexportprocess(Theintermediatedatabasecontainsonlythemanufacturerspecificdatathatgetsextractedfromthesystemdatabaseduringtheexportprocess).

Add Annotate files: Thischeckmarkisenabledbydefault.Itenablestheexportofmanufacturerspecificannotatetext

filesthatmayhavebeenaddedtosomeofthemanufacturerspecificdatarowsinLIFTdatamanager.Disablethischeckmarkifyoudonotwanttoexportthemanufacturerspecificannotatetextfileswiththemanufacturermodule.

2.7 Delete Module...

Ifyouwanttodeleteoneofthedatapools,clickontheDeleteModule...button.Youmustverifythedeletionofthedatapool.

Deletingadatapoolisacriticalprocess.Onceyouhavedeletedadatapool,

thedeleteddatacannotberestoredanymore.

2.8 Settings...

ClickontheSettings...buttontoactivate/deactivatespecialoptionsfortheselecteddatapool(doesntneedtobetheactivedatapool).

Copy Masterpool: WheneveryoustarttheAutoimportprocessforaselecteddatapool,theprocessautomaticallycopiesallsystemmanufacturerfilesfromtheLIFTdatamanagersMasterPathdirectory(e.g.C:\ProgramFiles\LD50\MasterPath\data\Manufacturer)tothedata

poolsManufacturer(onlyifthedatapoolssystemmanufacturerfileshaveadifferentdate,newerorolder)directory.Ifyouwanttodisablethisbehavior,disabletheCopyMasterpooloptionfortheselecteddatapool.

Grid activationdisabled:

Thisoptionisdisabledbydefault.ItdisablestheeditingfunctionfortheeditabledatagridcolumnsinLIFTdatamanager.Wheneveryouneedtochange/extendthetabledata,youmustactivatetheeditingmodeforthecolumnsmanually.Enablethismodefor

Wheneveryouimport/exportamanufacturerlibrary,orcreateanew/registeranexistingdatapool,thisprocessgetsdocumentedinalogfiledatabase.StarttheLIFTlogdialogviatheWindowsStartmenu:
