SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER MAY 16, 2021
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another God remains in us, and His love is brought to perfection in us. This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us of his Spirit.” We are a few days away from the great feast of Pentecost, when our loving God sent the Holy Spirit on the first disciples. He continues to shower us today, as we live Pentecost, as we witness to the Lord through the gift of confirmation. As we ask that the love of God be brought to perfection in us, may we recall the promised gifts of the Spirit for us from Isaiah and the fruits of the Spirit from the letter to the Galatians. The Lord does not force the Spirit upon us, we are to ask that He renew us again on Pentecost.

SOLIDARITY WITH SEAFARERS AS KEY ESSENTIAL WORKERS
Each year, the Coalition of Catholic Organizations Against Human Trafficking (CCOAHT) launches a campaign to raise awareness of forced labor in the fishing industry. This year, due to the global pan-demic, a new humanitarian crisis has emerged that is severely impacting all men and women who work at sea. Thus in 2021, CCOAHT - together with Stella Maris and the Apostleship of the Sea of the United States of America (AOS-USA) - are urging Catholics and all people of good will to pay witness to the life of the seafarer and to leverage their voices as com-munity members and consumers to uphold the safety and labor rights of one of the world’s most
invisible group of essential work-ers. Join us in urging Walmart to acknowledge their reliance on seafarers for the healthy func-tioning of their business model, and to show concern for seafar-ers’ wellbeing by signing the Nep-tune Declaration.

DISCUSSION GROUP
We invite you to watch this wonderful 4-week series about the Real Presence
of Christ in the Eucharist entitled, “Presence: The Mystery of the Eucharist”.
This multi-part video series is available for free on the Formed.org webpage. This series explores the truth and beauty of Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist, from its origins in Sacred Scripture,
to its profound role in the life of the Church and her members. It is the crescendo of the
entire story of salvation. However, is not meant just to be watched and it is certainly
not meant to be watched alone. That is why the parishes of St. Gregory and St. Vito/Most Holy Trinity invite you to join our second virtual small group discussion.
We now ask you to watch Episode 2,
“The Story of the Eucharist”
There will be two opportunities to join in our small group discussions virtually through
zoom, one group will meet virtually in English on Mondays at 7:00 pm,
and the other in Spanish on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
There will be a new episode to watch for each of the four weeks. Please sign up for only one
discussion group as space is limited.
To sign up to join, please call the parish office at
914- 698-2648 to register.
Space is limited!
SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER MAY 16, 2021
William J. Reilly
