The giant foreign-owned record companies saw their business model fail in the digital age.Now they want to tax radio stations to cover their losses.
Their performance tax would cripple local radio. Thousands could lose work and stations would suffer. Why? To fund a bailout for Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) companies based in Tokyo, Paris and London?
Don’t jeopardize free and local radio.
Join the 283 members* of Congress working to preserve free, local radio and oppose a performance tax on radio stations by co-sponsoring H. Con. Res. 49 and S. Con. Res. 14, the Local Radio Freedom Act.

Thank YouAfter the sudden death
of our mother, Betty Werleof Manly, the number ofcards, calls, food, contri-butions to the wonderfulHospice center, and per-sonal condolences receivedwere far greater than wepossibly could have imag-ined. Her sons and extend-ed family would like toexpress their deep, heart-felt gratitude to all whooffered support and love toher during her nearly sev-enty years as a Manly resi-dent.
Among the many cardswe received, one had thefollowing handwrittenpoem inside that cap-tures the love and lives
THANK YOU
our parents shared:
He went out hunting pheasants
and found his treasure there.Their love would
last foreverlike the best
of memories shared.With truth
and genuinenessshe lived and laughed
and loved.Now once again together
they’re hand in hand and free,
On a new adventurein a place we can’t yet see.
