Manual Handling For Childcare Professionals

Manual Handling For Childcare ProfessionalsChildcare professionals are often required to safely move and handle different loads, like play equipment and furniture, as well as lift children in and out of cots, highchairs or pushchairs. The course has been designed to ensure that childcare professionals are aware of the injuries that these everyday activities could incur and help them practise good posture and moving and handling techniques.

It will guide employees and employers in assessing risk and managing their own safety and that of those around them, including the children in their care, so they are competent in meeting their legal duties under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulation 1992.

This course has been compiled by a Lecturer in Early Years Care and Education. We maintain the validity of our courses including changes in legislation and practices to ensure the training material is complaint.
