    Creation Days 1-5

    Year A, Quarter 1, Number 3

Hello Boys and Girls! Uncle Steve has a story for you today from the Holy Bible about how our world

    was made.

    Intro

King David tells us in the 33rd Psalm, verses 6 and 9:

6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. (Ps 33:6, 9).

Job tells us more detail in his 26th chapter, verses 7 through 14:

7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, andhangeth the earth upon nothing. 8 He bindeth up the

waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.... 10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds,

until the day and night come to an end.... 13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the

crooked serpent. 14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of

his power who can understand? (Job 26:7-14)

Moses tells us the whole story in Genesis, chapter 1:

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God

moved upon the face of the waters.

    Day 1

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the

    first day.

    Day 2

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the

    waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which

were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

    Day 3

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land

appear: and it was so.10 And God called the dry landEarth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that

    it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, andthe fruit tree yielding fruit after his

kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, andherb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed

was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

    Day 4

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let

them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made

    the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it wasgood.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. (Ge 1:1-19)

    Day 5

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly

above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth

abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply

    in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. (Ge 1:20-23)

    Appeal

In only five days God made planet Earth, the sky, the ocean, the sun, moon and stars, the land and

mountains, all the trees, plants and flowers, and all the birds and fish. The more we learn about the

things He has made, the more we can understand what a wonderful and powerful God He is. That is

what Job tells us in chapter 12 and verses 7 to 9:

7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: 8 Or speak

to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. 9 Who knoweth not in all

these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? (Job 12:7-9)
