As an undrafted free agent, Oak-land Raiders running back JalenRichard made quite the impres-
sion during the preseason to make theteam’s 53-man roster.
In Week 1 of the 2016 season mid-way through the fourth quarteragainst the New Orleans Saints,Richard would make anothergrand impression for his “Wel-come to the NFL” moment.
“The story couldn’t get anybetter,” Richard said. “To gothrough all the obstacles that Iwent through to make the 53-man team and my firstgame is in New Orleans?That was something spe-cial to me.”

BATON ROUGE — No talkingabout a no-hitter in progress is thesacred rule in baseball. LSU fresh-man Jake Slaughter took that to anew level Saturday afternoon atAlex Box Stadium. He didn’t knowabout it until it was over.

LSU pitcher since 1979 to throw ano-hitter as the No. 3 Tigers defeat-ed Army, 6-0, in a seven-inninggame in front of about 5,000 tosweep a doubleheader. The Tigers(2-0) won the first game, 9-0, also ina scheduled seven innings.
“After we made the last out, Isaw Cole running out there to themound,” Slaughter said. “And I waslike, ‘What’s he doing?’”
