Proved Natural Gas Reserves
Almost three-quarters of the worlds natural gas
reserves are located in the Middle East and Eurasia.
Russia, Iran, and Qatar together accountedfor about 57 percent of the worlds natural gas
reserves as of January 1, 2009.

OPPORTUNI TY
Indonesia has a variety of energy sources comprising oil and gas, coal, geothermal and otherrenewable energy sources.
The growing national economy will lead to increased energy consumption and purchasing power ofthe people, eventually will attract private investment in the energy industry.
Energy efficiency will be increasingly targeted in the future.
National and international markets are increasingly open.
National Energy Mix 2025 Opportunity & Constraints
CONSTRAI NTS
Current structure of energy price does not support energy conservation and diversification.
Disparity of economic growth among regions.
Price disparity of fossil energy between domestic and international market.
Energy industry, particularly oil and gas, electricity is not yet competitive.
Market instability and fluctuation of price of fossil energy.
Investment climate is not yet conducive.

Facts & Figures
Having reached the 2nd Peak in 1995 at 1.62 Mb/d, oil
production dropped by 38%, down to < 1.0 Mb/d in 2004 (or
5% per year).
The Asia economic crisis in 1997 and the 1999s low oil prices, were responsible for lower Global E&P Spending and
Activities:
.hence, speeding up decline in oil production of Indonesia.
By 2004, more than 87% of Ultimate Recoverable Reserves hasbeen produced (depleted).
More than 90% of the current oil production comes from
mature fields with decline rate of about 5-15% per year.
