2 Creating Topology
This chapter introduces how to create topology objects in the T2000. This is the firststep in configuration.
The following tasks are described:

2.1 Creating NEs
There are several ways to create NE icons.
2.1.1 Searching NEs in Batch
Purpose
It is to search for the NE ID information of all NEs in a network and the IP addressesof the gateway NEs by specifying the IP address range of a network to be searched.
Based on the above information, you can create NEs in batch on the T2000 anddisplay them on the Main Topology. The equipment search function of the T2000 canalso be used to search for and display the information about connection betweenNEs, but you need to manually create these fibers/cables one by one.
Searching for and creating NEs in batch is quicker and more accurate than manuallycreating NEs one by one. This method applies to the situation that data has beenconfigured on the NE side and fiber/cable connection has been established betweenNEs.
Prerequisite
NM user with the authority of "system maintainer" or above.
Procedure
Step Action1 Select [Topology/Automatic Equipment Detection] from the Main
Menu.
2 Click <Add Search Field>. The “Input IP” dialog box is displayed.
3 Set “Address Type” to “IP Network Section the GNE Is in” or “GNEIP Address”, and enter the IP address. Click <OK>.
Note:
You can repeat steps 2~3 to add multiple search fields. The default
search field provided can be deleted.
4 Click <Start Search>. The NEs and Links found are displayed aftersearch.
5 Select the uncreated NE in the “NEs Found” list and click <CreateNE>. The “Current NE ID is…” dialog box is displayed.

6 Enter the NE user name and password. You can select the “All NEsuse the same User and Password” or “Save User and Password forRe-Use” combo box when creating multiple NEs.
7 Click <OK>. The NE is created in the Main Topology.
2.1.2 Manually Creating NEs
Purpose
Use this procedure to manually create NEs one by one.
This method applies to the situation no matter whether data has been configured onthe NE side or not.
Prerequisite
NM user with the authority of "system maintainer" or above.
Procedure
Step Action
1 Right-click in the Main Topology and select [Create/TopologyObject].

2 Select the NE type from the “Create Topology Object” dialog boxand enter the attribute information of the NE.
Note:
Default NE user of the T2000: root; default password: password. The
NE user to create an NE is at the system maintainer level at least.
You can choose the “Pre-Configuration” combo box if the data has not
been configured on the NE side.
3 Click <OK>.
4 Click in the Main Topology. The icon of this NE appears in theposition where you click.
2.1.3 Deleting NE
Purpose
Use this procedure to manually delete NEs one by one on the NM side.
Prerequisites
NM user with the authority of "system maintainer" or above.
Fibers and cables connected to the NE have been deleted.

2.1.4 Switching NE User
Purpose
For NE management, you usually need to select an NE user with the correspondingauthority level according to the operation type. To avoid conflict due to the login to
the NE from different clients using the same NE user, you often need to switch theNE user.
Prerequisites
NM user with the authority of "system maintainer" or above.
NE user has been created.
Procedure
Step Action
1 Select [System/NE Security Management/NE Login Management]from the Main Menu.
2 Select the NE with the NE user to be switched from the NE list, andclick the double-right-arrow button (red).
3 Select the NE in “NE Login Management”. Click <Switch NE User>.The “Switch Current NE User” dialog box is displayed.
Note:
You can use <Ctrl> or <Shift> to select multiple NEs at one time.
