The second album by Black Sabbath, released in 1970, has longattained classic status. ‘Paranoid’ not only changed the face of rockmusic forever, but also defined the sound and style of Heavy Metalmore than any other record in rock history. The result of a magicchemistry between four English musicians, it catapulted BlackSabbath into the rock stratosphere.

This programme tells the story behind the writing, recording andsuccess of this groundbreaking album. Using exclusive interviews, musical demonstration, archive footage, and returning to the multi-tracks with engineer Tom Allom, the film reveals how OzzyOsbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward created their frighteningly dark, heavy and ear-shatteringly loudsound.

The multi-platinum selling Paranoid is arguably Black Sabbath'sfinest album, not to mention one of the most seminal Heavy Metalalbums of all time, containing some of the band's best-known sig-nature songs, including the title track “Paranoid”, “Iron Man”,“Hand Of Doom” and “War Pigs”. This is truly a Classic Album.

• El ectric Slave is BLACk JOE LEWIS new studio album, set for release on August 30, 2013 via Vagrant/Shock.• Opening track “Skulldiggin” is a deafening first shot in the band’s war against technology-induced devolution. Three of the new tracks (“Skulldiggin,” “Dar Es Salaam,” “my Blood Ain't Runnin' Right”) were recorded and produced by John Congleton (Explosions in the Sky, St. Vincent, Okkervil River) at Elmwood Studios in Dallas.
