Shauna’s News

Work Time with Hannah

Working at home with a baby has its rewards, but it certainly has its challenges too. We haven’t set up an office space yet and until that happens my “desk” comes in the shape of a bed or couch.

As mentioned in the caption above, working at home with a baby can be tough sometimes. If I’m up half the night with her due to growth spurts or gas, working the next morning is hard. Typically, I wake up early and get Elizabeth up for pre-kindergarten and see Clayton and her off. After breakfast I sit down with a cup of coffee and get as much work done in the next hour before Hannah wakes up. Sometimes she hears everyone stirring and wakes up before that even happens. The next several hours I juggle her time and work time, trying to take advantage of nap times to get more done.

It is nice to only live about 15 minutes from Emerald Hills, the home office. At least once a week Hannah and I spend time at the office for meetings, printing, presentations, or various other events. Pictured above is Hannah sitting in on a meeting to discuss Team Expansion’s booth redesign options. Yes, she is yawning (and fell asleep shortly after). I think she rather enjoys going to the office. It’s a change of scenery for us both, plus she gets smiles and attention from everyone.

I thank God (and you) that I am able to continue this ministry!

I recently heard about a young man in Asia who had loved his father so deeply that, when his father passed away, it was one of the most difficult moments of the young man's life. Sometime later though, he heard about Jesus and was thrilled with his new-found hope for eternity. But then he realized his father died a Buddhist. He turned to the one from whom he had heard about Jesus and his heart filled with anguish. "How long have you known about this Good News," he asked. Yikes.

For this reason, Team Expansion's 340 career workers dedicate themselves to getting the Good News to as many people as possible as rapidly as possible. We long to help all sons AND their fathers become followers of Jesus while there's still time. Thank you for your partnership in this sobering task.

✤ Ask God to use the brochure for Bosnia in mighty ways and that it will be an effective tool for my coworker in raising awareness and teammates for the ministry there.

✤ Thank God with us for finding renters for the old house so quickly.✤ Getting settled in the new house is challenging with our schedules and the girls. Pray God

will give us the strength to finish the move and make the house our home.✤ We have several workers in the Middle East. Pray for their safety and witness.

Raymer Family NewsJanuary was a whirlwind. First of all, we

moved! A few months ago we put an offer in on a foreclosure. It was a long process and we weren’t sure if it was even going to go through, but the first week of January we closed! The house is only four minutes away from our old home with almost twice the space for our growing family. We’re keeping the old house as a rental property and have renters moving in as you’re reading this. Our address is 4118 Mimosa View Dr., Louisville, KY 40299 (checks should still be sent to the office address).

We started Hannah on solids. So far she’s eaten carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, yellow squash, banana, avocado, and green beans. She’s a good eater! Elizabeth enjoyed seeing Paddington Bear with her PreK class. And Clayton continues to keep himself busy juggling home, work, and classes.

Prayer Requests & Praises

Brochure for BosniaMy teammates on the field often lack the time, resources and know how to design media

projects. That’s why I’m here - to serve them. One of my coworkers and his wife have been serving in Bosnia for several years now. He asked me a few weeks ago to help him develop a brochure to help recruit more people to join the work there.

Every time I create a prayer card, brochure, banner, bookmark, or other project, I wonder how God will use it for that worker. I don’t often see direct results from the work I do, but every time a Team Expansion worker raises their finances and makes it to the field, every church that is planted, every person who is baptized is a result of our working together for the growth of God's Kingdom.
