SCENES FROM CUPRIJA

NATO air strikes are not a war against the Serbian people, western alliance officials keep repeating from a safe distance, using the term “collateral damage” as a heartless bureaucratic definition of Serbian and Albanian civilian victims. The destru- ction of homes and the obliteration of all future

prospective for Yugoslav children is for them the sublime scope of the humanitarian intervention launched to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe. In reality, their actions seem to say – We’re sorry for killing you, but it’s for your own good.

DAILY REVIEW

EXCERPTS FROM THE STATEMENTMADE BY 3RD ARMY COMMANDER –

MAJOR GENERAL NEBOJSAPAVKOVIC

The YA 3rd army managed to fully preserve material, technical and combat equipment in Kosovo and

Metohija, and NATO suffered major losses in ourterritory. The men of the 3rd Army alone downed 16aircraft, 5 helicopters, 46 cruise missiles and 4 drones.Because of the NATO aggression the people and theArmy have practically become one, fully determined todefend their country. Albanian terrorist forces in Kosovoand Metohija have been disbanded and the very fact thatNATO aggressors are forming new Albanian units inAlbania and Macedonia and making every possible effortto infiltrate them into the country confirms this. We areready, so let them come. In Kosovo and Metohija wenow have more than 150.000 armed men. If only 30percent of these muzzles makes a hit, this will be theprice that the aggressor will pay should he try to intrudeinto our country. We are the army of all the nations andethnic communities living in Kosovo and Metohija andthat is exactly how we behave – general Pavkovicstressed adding that the morale of the troops is high asnever before. He also underscored that the KosMet crisiscan be settled through political negotiations with KosmetAlbanians, provided that the aggression on ourcountry is terminated first.
