    PART 1 GENERAL

    1.01 SECTION INCLUDES

    A. Temporary utilities.

    B. Temporary telecommunications services.

    C. Temporary sanitary facilities.

    D. Temporary Controls: Barriers, enclosures, and fencing.

    E. Security requirements.

    F. Vehicular access and parking.

    G. Waste removal facilities and services.

    1.02 RELATED REQUIREMENTS

    1.03 TEMPORARY UTILITIES

    A. Contractor shall provide the following:

    1. Electrical power and metering, consisting of connection to existing facilities.2. Water supply, consisting of connection to existing facilities.

    B. Provide and pay for all electrical power, lighting, water, heating and cooling, and ventilationrequired for construction purposes.

    C. New or existing permanent facilities shall not be used without a written express agreementissued by the Employer.

    D. All Utilities / Services required for Site works shall be provided by the Contractor.

    E. Utility services for Operation and Maintenance during Defects Liability Period will be provided by

    the Employer.

    1.04 TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES AND COMPUTER PERIPHERALS

    A. Contractor shall provide, maintain, and pay for listed telecommunications services to Architect'sfield offices throughout duration of the Project including maintenance period.

    B. Provide equivalent equipment and connections for Owner's field office.

    C. Telecommunications services shall include:1. Telephones.

    a. Dedicated Telephone Land Lines: 2 lines , Provide at least 5 extensions within theoffices.

    b. Contractor shall pay for all installation charges, along with all calls within U.A.E.c. Telephone outlets should be placed in accordance with the floor plan provided by the

    Architect.

    2. Internet Connections: Minimum of one; DSL modem (minimum 3G)or faster.

    3. Email: Account/address reserved for project use.

    4. Facsimile Service: Minimum of 1 dedicated fax machine/printer, with dedicated phoneline.

    5. Facsimile Service: Fax-to-email software on personal computer.

    D. Printer / Copier / Scanner (Color, A3 size).

    E. Provide temporary parking areas to accommodate construction personnel. When site space isnot adequate, provide additional off-site parking.

    F. Existing parking areas located at designated places may be used for construction parking.

    G. Provide shaded 2 parking spaces with signs showing titles and "Reserved" for Owner's use.

    H. Provide shaded 6 parking spaces with signs showing titles and "Reserved" for Architect's use.

    I. Provide Vehicles for Engineer's use as mentioned below;1. 2 Nos. Class II, 4x2 wheel drive, engine capacity around 2.0 litres cars not more than 4

    years old, Models such as; Kia Sportage, Suzuki Vitara, Nissan Qashqai, Toyota RAV4,Honda CRV.

    2. Provide a fuel allowance of AED 500.00 per month to each vehicle as long as they areused by the Engineer.

    3. All vehicles provided by the Contractor for the use of the Engineer shall be registered inthe name of the Contracor in line with regulations of Abu Dhabi Traffic Department.Vehicles shall be reverted back to the Contractor after the release of the final Payment.

    1.10 WASTE REMOVAL

    A. Provide waste removal facilities and services as required to maintain the site in clean andorderly condition.

    B. Provide containers with lids. Remove trash from site periodically.C. If materials to be recycled or re-used on the project must be stored on-site, provide suitable

    non-combustible containers; locate containers holding flammable material outside the structureunless otherwise approved by the authorities having jurisdiction.

    D. Open free-fall chutes are not permitted. Terminate closed chutes into appropriate containerswith lids.

    1.11 PROJECT IDENTIFICATION

    A. Provide project identification sign of design, construction, and location approved by Owner orEngineer.

    B. No other signs are allowed without Owner permission except those required by law.

    1.12 FIELD OFFICES

    A. Office: Weathertight, with proper lighting, electrical outlets, heating, cooling equipment, andequipped with sturdy furniture, drawing rack and drawing display table.

    B. Provide space for Project meetings, with table and chairs to accommodate 10 persons.

    C. Provide separate office similarly equipped and furnished, for use of Owner.

    D. Provide full time office boy exclusively for Engineer's and Employer's offices.

    E. Locate offices a minimum distance of 30 feet (10 m) from existing and new structures.

    F. Office area of the Engineer shall be partitioned as follows with areas not less than what isshown;

    1. Resident Engineer and Chief Engineer: 16 m2,2. Meeting Hall: 20 m2,

    3. Secretary / Document Controller: 5 m2,

    4. Quantity Surveyor: 8 m2,5. Inspectors: Common area but with 5 m2 for each,

    6. Pantry: 3 m2,7. Toilet: 6 m2 (One toilet for each 4 persons and part thereof),

    G. Furniture. Provide high quality brand new furniture, equipment, fittings and conveniences inoffices for;1. Employer, Resident Engineer and Chief Architect (each);

    a. 1 No. Double pedestal desk,

    b. 1 No. Side table,

    4. Meeting Hall;a. 1 No. Big size table,b. 10 Nos. Medium back swivel chairs with arms,

    c. 1 No. Bulletin Board (1200x2000 mm)

    d. 1 No. Steel hanging drawing cabinet capable of storing A1 size drawings includinghangers.

    5. Pantry;

    a. 1 No. 12 feet Refrigerator,b. 1 No. Microwave Stove,c. 1 No. Electric Kettle,

    d. Shelves and Kitchen Cabinets,e. Kitchen facilities (dishes, spoons, glasses, forks, knives .. etc.) for at least 6 persons.

    6. General

    a. 1 No. Wall mounted First Aid kit in each Porta Cabin.b. 1 No. Fire Extinguisher - 1 kg capacity, powder type.

    1.13 CONSUMABLES FOR TEMPORARY EMPLOYER'S AND ENGINEER'S OFFICES

    A. Provide adequate capacity electricity, water connections and Air Conditioning withoutinterruptions.

    B. Provide regular supply of office consumables such as; Stationary, tissue, Print cartridges, CD /DVD, Files ... etc.

    C. Provide adequate supply of potable water and water cooler to each Porta Cabin.

    D. Provide regular supply of adequate amounts of nominal refreshments such as; Bottled water,tea coffee and sugar.

    E. Provide regular supply of toilet and kitchen consumables such as; Soap, toilet papers, tissues.

    F. All of above shall be supplied for the entire duration of the Project.

    1.14 REMOVAL OF UTILITIES, FACILITIES, AND CONTROLS

    A. At end of construction, or at such times as the Engineer may direct, remove all temporary

    facilities and installations and make good to the Engineer's satisfaction and as required by theconcerned authorities.

    B. Clean and repair damage caused by installation or use of temporary work.

    C. Restore existing facilities used during construction to original condition.

    D. Restore new permanent facilities used during construction to specified condition.
