By evaporation: At oven at 150 C. UNSUCCESSFUL!!! By Centrifuge: Media was centrifuge for 5 10 min. Too time consuming!! But SUCCESSFUL!!! Set up 8 or 10 bottles, (duplicates) Monitor pH in the bottles and adjust CO 2 accordingly.---Will need flowmeters for better control of flowrate into each bottle. Control light, using Li-Cor PAR sensor. Monitor temperature. Will use one bottle for growth rate measurement, while leaving one undisturbed. Possibly use 2 different media for the Dunaliella algae. (Erdschreiber's Medium, F/2 medium), and for the BB.Erdschreiber's Medium Dry Algae Homogenize with mortar and pestle in n- hexane. Let sit for 10 min. Centrifuge at 5000rpm for 10 min. Repeat. Use the Dryer and Bligh method as well, ( methanol, chloroform, water mixture). Compare. Analyze oil.
