4 FlexiPacket MultiRadio replacement
4.1 Double cable configurationThis paragraph gives the procedure to follow when having to replace the faulty Flexi-
Packet MultiRadio from the supporting framework fastened to the pole (independent
antenna configuration) or from the antenna (integrated antenna configuration).
Steps
1 Power off the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
2 Pull out the Ethernet cable and the Power Supply cable, if any.
3 Disconnect the ground.
4 Disconnect the RF waveguide.
5 Unhook the four hooks on the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
6 Lift the FlexiPacket MultiRadio, so as to free it from the hooks on the support, and
remove it.
7 Install the FlexiPacket MultiRadio spare part.
8 Hook the four hooks.
9 Connect the RF waveguide.
1 Connect the ground.
11 Connect the Ethernet cable and the Power supply cable, if any.

Power on the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.13 Connect the PC.
14 Configure the FlexiPacket MultiRadio with the same configuration and same licence
of the faulty FlexiPacket MultiRadio (refer to the Commission document). To restore
the license with CLicS after the replacement of a faulty FlexiPacket MultiRadio refer
to paragraph 8.2 of the Operate and Maintain document).
t If a backup file has been saved, this file can be used to restore the configuration(refer to the Operate and Maintain document).
15 Enter menu Alarmsand verify that no alarm is active.
tIn case of a failed FlexiPacket MultiRadio connected to a FlexiHopper antenna followthe steps:
Remove the assembly FlexiPacket MultiRadio + FlexiHopper Adapter.
Disconnect the FlexiHopper Adapter from the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
Take a spare FlexiPacket MultiRadio and install on it the previously disinstalled Flex-
iHopper Adapter.
Install on the FlexiHopper Antenna the assembly.
Sent to the repair center only the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.

4.2 Single cable configuration
This paragraph gives the procedure to follow when having to replace a faulty Flexi-
Packet MultiRadio in a single cable configuration.

4.2.1 Replacement of the co-located FlexiPacket MultiRadio
Steps
1 Power off the faulty FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
2 Pull out the Ethernet cable and the Power Supply cable.
3 Disconnect the ODU-ODU cable.
4 Disconnect the ground.
5 Disconnect the RF waveguide.
6 Unhook the four hooks on the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
7 Lift the FlexiPacket MultiRadio, so as to free it from the hooks on the support, and
remove it.
8 Install the FlexiPacket MultiRadio spare part.
9 Hook the four hooks.
1 Connect the RF waveguide.
11 Connect the ground.
12 Connect the Ethernet cable, the Power supply cable and the ODU-ODU cable.
13 Power on the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
14 Connect the PC to the Management port of the IDU.

15 Disable the Transfer IP Address to colocated ODU functionality as shown in the
figure, before to run the commands on port 23001 and do not re-enable it.
16 Open the following Telnet session.

18 Enter the User name and password in the Java authentication screen.
19 If you have a backup file of the NE, restore it as explained in document Operate and
Maintain, otherwise configure the NE again as explained in document Commis-
sion. If necessary, upgrade the software and the licence.
4.2.2 Replacement of the Direct Connected FlexiPacket MultiRadio
Steps
1 Power off the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
2 Pull out the Ethernet cable and the Power Supply cable, if any.
3 Disconnect the ODU-ODU cable.
4 Disconnect the ground.
5 Disconnect the RF waveguide.
6 Unhook the four hooks on the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
7 Lift the FlexiPacket MultiRadio, so as to free it from the hooks on the support, and
remove it.
8 Install the FlexiPacket MultiRadio spare part.
9 Hook the four hooks.
1 Connect the RF waveguide.
11 Connect the ground.
12 Connect the Ethernet cable, the Power supply cable, if any, and the ODU-ODU
cable.
13 Power on the FlexiPacket MultiRadio.
14 Connect the PC to the Management port of the IDU.
15 Run the FlexiPacket Commissioning Toolapplication.
Start > Programs > Nokia Siemens Networks > Commissioning Tool > Run CT
to run the application.
16 Select the Login to the connected FlexiPacket Hub and click on Next(Enter the
Advancedmode).
17 Enter the FlexiPacket public IP address with the relevant Subnet Maskand the
Default Gateway IP address, and click on Next.
18 The following screen opens.

19 Enter menu Port View.
2 Select the row relevant to the Direct Connected FlexiPacket MultiRadio and clik on
Delete.
21 Select the row, previously deleted, and enter all the parameters. Click on Add.
22 If you have a backup file, go to Step 23; otherwise go directly to Step 26.
23 Click on Softwareicon. Click on Nextto enter menu Restore configuration.
Note: if necessary, upgrade the software.
24 This menu allows to configure the FlexiPacket MultiRadio by restoring on the NE a
previously saved backup configuration. To do this, put a check mark on the Do
restorecheck box and browse to the directory with the backup file (with extension
gz).
Click on Apply.

25 Verify the license (menu License) and, if the license is not the planned one, select
the FlexiPacket MultiRadio row and upgrade it by clicking Upgrade License.
26 Click on menu FPR view to get the list of the FlexiPacket MultiRadios, previously
configured. Select the FlexiPacket MultiRadio and click on Modifyto configure the
FlexiPacket MultiRadio (1+0 Configuration).
27 Configure the Networkparameters.
28 Configure the Time Serverparameters.
29 Open the WebLCT and configure all the other parameters of the FlexiPacket Multi-
Radio as explained in FlexiPacket MultiRadio Rel. 2.4 and IDU (Ax200, FPFM200
and FPH800) commissioning chapter 3. Refer to the system types with single cable.
