What is a Key Performance Indicator
Key performance indicatorKey performance indicator!KPI" is a function ofcounters. In its simplest form# KPI is an
individual counter.
The idea $ehind the KPI concept is that the
information of one counter value is rarely
enough. %n the other hand# the operator needsto get information on networ& performance in a
compact format# in order to minimise human
analysis effort.
With carefully defined KPIs# the operator caneasily see the overall status of networ&
performance# e.g. how RR' or RA( setups
succeed# is the RA( drop ratio on an accepta$le
level# are there severe pro$lems in handovers#
and many other criticities.
