SURPASS hiD 6615 S411 is a compact chassis type L3 Gigabit Ethernet switch. It is a module type of switch and can be equipped with several modules (units) in the chassis. It effectively utilizes both front and rear side of the chassis for holding modules.
The hiD 6615 S411 is a shelf-based modular switch so that user can customize it for your network circumstance. It adopts redundancy structure you can make up for have them all in the shelf or you can equip the redundant SFU, power, fan units in for reliable operation. The hiD 6615 S411 is composed of a chassis and several pluggable modules. The chassis have midplane and Management Interface Unit (MIU) as fixed system components. The following lists the supported interface units of the switch. • Optical Interface Unit (OIU) for Gigabit Ethernet service • 10-Gigabit Ethernet Interface Unit (XIU) • Switching Fabric Unit (SFU) • Power Supply Units (PSU) • Fan Units
This product is specially designed to fit in rural areas with long distance to provide them broadband access. It features power, fan, and switching fabric redundancy, so stable operation could be achieved from sudden network failure. Also, it is the most economical aggregation switch that consolidates traffic from various sources in an access network and uplinks to the edge router with 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Service providers can deploy Gigabit Ethernet service over the existing DSL infrastructure or access networks. With performance of a non-blocking switching capacity of up to 176 Gbps switching capacity and 101 Mpps throughput, the hiD 6615 S411 provides high speed networking environment.

Overview
In the front, hiD 6615 S411 has three service interface slots. OIU could be inserted into two slots from the top. The bottom is divided into two half slots. The left half is for the MIU and the right half is for the XIU or blank unit if you don’t want to use. XIU delivers high bandwidth and low latency, which could make an uplink connection to core network by using two 10 GE trunk ports.

In the rear, there are two SFU slots from the top and two PSU slots in the bottom. A pair of SFU and PSU slot is incorporated for redundancy; a SFU and PSU can operate alone without redundant one. Or, by using redundant SFUs and PSUs, the switch can perform stable switching operation and power feeding. The switch has four fan units in total. They are located vertically at both ends in the front and rear side of chassis. The air flows from the right side inlet to the left side outlet. A fan unit can run in any different fan slot.
The hiD 6615 S411 is a network element, which includes the necessary service adaptation functions to support multiple services, such as Ethernet, IP telephony, and video services over broadband. The hiD 6615 S411 is a middle class aggregation switch. It performs all the necessary L2/L3 functions as normal carrier Ethernet switches do. Also, it concentrates traffic originated from DSL or access infrastructures through its Gigabit Ethernet ports and carries fast traffic delivery to the uplink core network with its 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. The hiD 6615 S411 can be managed with Access Integrator Ethernet (ACI-E) EM DX R3.0, which is the element manager for all NEs from Nokia Siemens Networks carrier Ethernet solution. It enables the operators to benefit from the whole feature set supported by the products. ACI-E EM DX R3.0 supports FCAPS-functionality (fault management, configuration management, accounting management, performance management and security management). Mass provisioning tables, topological maps and wide network alarm tables are further value added services that facilitates operators’ daily work.
