4.1 Overview
BSC local office data configuration is of great significance, and has direct impact upon the
normal operation of the GMPUs in BSC.
BSC local office information describes SS7 information in BSC, e.g., OPC, DPC, SCCP, etc.
And the GSM specification supported by each interface (A/Abis/Um interface).
4.2 Configuring Local Office Information
Select the [Local Office Information] tab page in BSC Auto Data Configuration System, asshown in Figure 4-1.

Parameter name Default
value
Description
Signaling NetworkIndicator
NationalStandby
As per the actual conditions, configure thesignaling network that OSP belongs to.
BSC Signaling PointCode
None Namely, OPC. Configure this parameter as perthe network plan.
MSC Signaling PointCode
None Namely, DPC. Configure this parameter as perthe data in the peer MSC.
z All the SPCs of Huawei GSM equipment is indicated by hexadecimal. Please convert the SPCs if
there are indicated by decimal digits in relevant documents. Generally, SPC is a 14-bit signaling
code, and may be a 24-bit signaling code. To meet the various requirements of different MSCs, SPCshould be configured based on negotiation.
z When signaling abnormality occurs, user can check whether the first digit of hexadecimal in SPC is
"0", and can attempt to add "0" to or remove "0" from the first digit. "0" will change the valid bitnumber of SPC, the method to identify the number of SPC is different between different MSC.
For the detail information on the parameters, please refer to M900/M1800 Base Station

Allowed
No Used to determine whether the BSC cell
provides LCS (Cell ID+TA) or not.
TC OWA Check Time 255 FTC OWA Check Time can be started orclosed dynamically. Check Time means:
FTC tests the UL/DL voice service of theoccupied timeslots. If it fails to receive theUL/DL voice frame in a specified period(for example, 5 s), it reports alarm to MPU.
GPRS Suspend TimerValue
5 If initiates a call to a MS that is carrying out
PS service, the PS service is suspended andthen resumed.
The suspend flow: After send the message
GPRS Suspend Request to PCU,,BSC starts
the GPRS Suspend Timer Value and waitfor the PCU returns the Ack or Nackmessage. If BSC does not receive the
response of PCU within the set timeof GPRS Suspend Timer Value, BSC setsthe status of the GPRS in CCB as no
response received. The resume flow is notstarted.
