the Church. He carries out this service under the authority of his proper bishop by the ministry of the Word, of divine worship, of pastoral care and of charity.

There are certain things in life God has called us to be. Being silent is not one of them, especially regarding abortion and euthana-sia. “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” ~ Albert Einstein

Franciscan Missions

Since 2001 the St. Jude Council of Catholic Women (CCW) has sent over 6,000 pairs of eyeglasses to the needy in all parts of the developing world. In addition, 55 boxes of jewelry and cancelled stamps have been sent to the Franciscan Missions abroad. Both of these organizations have sent letters of thanks for these donations. Please continue to do-nate your eyeglasses, old watches, jewelry and can-celled stamps. The donation boxes are on the back pew table of the rear of the Chapel and in the Ush-er’s Room in the Church. Parish Mission Fr. Cedric Pisegna, C.P.

Three Days of Inspiration Monday - Wednesday

March 12 to March 14 Morning Mass 8:30 a.m. Church

Evening Inspiration 7:00 p.m. Church

Fr. Cedric Pisegna, C.P. will say the 8:30 a.m. daily Mass during these dates. His homily will be about 25 minutes. His evening talks will be different from the morning talks. We hope that you will find time to come to the Parish mission. Fr. Cedric Ministries is all about the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. His ministry is an expression of the “New Evangelization” called for by our late Holy Father St. John Paul II. Fr. Cedric preaches to help people come to know Jesus in a per-sonal way. The salvation and new life that comes from the Cross of Jesus is a major part of his proclamation.

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

Every priest cherishes the words of the Savior, “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. And I have appointed you, so that you may go forth and bear fruit, and so that your fruit may last. Then what-ever you have asked of the Father in my name, he shall give to you” (Jn 15:16). From within our own Diocese, from other states, and from far away coun-tries, men have been called to serve the people of God here in the Diocese of Palm Beach. They leave behind their homes and their families and are welcomed into your homes and families. In so many ways they em-body and the title, Father, as they share in life’s jour-ney with you.

As many of you worry about taking care of your families as they age, so we are also challenged to take care of our family of faith, our Fathers in faith. Through the Retirement Fund for Religious we take care of the religious men and women who served in our parishes and schools, and by the Diocesan Re-tired Priests Collection, we are for our Fathers in faith when either age or infirmity prevents them from living out their priestly calling.

Thank you for the care and love that you continu-ously show to the priests of the Diocese of Palm Beach. Your kindness provides them with a spiritual family in their parish ministry and fills their life with warmth and compassion. When they can no longer minister in the parish your spiritual and material gen-erosity provides them with care and comfort.

May God bless you for the joy that you bring to our Fathers in faith.

With gratitude for your continued generosity and every prayerful wish, I am

Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito Bishop of Palm Beach

Our Lady’s Rosary Prayer Group ~ Our Blessed Mother has always asked us to pray the Rosary to help us become closer to Jesus. Our families, church, clergy, country, and the world are in

need of all the Rosaries we can pray. Peace can only come through God and prayer. All are welcome to join us on Tuesday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel. We pray the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If you have a question, please call Mary at 746-7974. (Please enter through the doors on the south side of the Chapel.) Please also note the Rosary is said after the 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. morning Masses in the Chap-el.

Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle Prayer Group meets on Friday mornings after the 8:30 a.m. Mass in the Church Cry Room. We do hope that you will be able to join us. Devotion to Mary is always on the First Saturday of the month after the 8:30 a.m. Mass.

The Most Blessed Sacrament is exposed every day in the Adoration Chapel from 9:00 a.m. in the morning until 9:00 p.m. in the evening. On the First Friday of the month, exposition is 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 a.m. the following morning, First Satur-

day. If you wish to participate in the opportunity to spend time in silent rayer before the Lord and bring many blessings to yourself, your family and our parish, please contact Jim and Marie Ross at 561-345-5037.

alone would be overcome, two will put up resistance: and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12. Please call Frank Maurno at 561-512-6541.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults The early stages of RCIA are known as the ‘inquiry’ phase. A non-Catholic engag-ing in this part of the process is not making a commitment to become Catholic.

1. Those who are interested in becoming Catholic; 2. Those who want to learn about the Catholic faith and teachings; 3. Those adults who were Baptized Catholic but have not yet made their First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation; 4. Those Catholics who want to learn more about their Catholic Faith. Devotions to Our Blessed MotherDevotions to Our Blessed MotherDevotions to Our Blessed Mother

When we look upon the wounded Jesus, we see ourselves. Perhaps it was the pitiful appear-ance of Christ hanging on the cross...beaten, lacerated, bleeding...that gave the Good Thief

the gumption to make his outrageous request: “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” He saw past the wounds ~ to the love of One who dies to give his life to us. Grace always enters through our wounds. The wounds of Jesus “offer us a choice: either to be condemned with those who inflicted the wounds and pierced Christ’s side...or to repent

and enter into the open side of Christ to dwell there, for it has become a haven of rest.” We must have the courage to live our woundedness. This healing power in us will not come from

our capacities and our riches, but in and through our poverty. We are called to discover that God can bring peace, compassion, and love through our wounds. The wounds

never pass away: they remain, for those wounds are the enduring sign of God’s love for us. In heaven, we shall see on the bodies of the martyrs the wounds that they bore for Christ’s name as dignity ~ not a deformity.

A certain kind of beauty will radiate from them. And a special beauty will appear in the places scarred by His wounds. The scars belong to the greater increase of glory. ~F. Peter John Cameron, O.P.
