the catholic faith appeal

Next week, we begin the holiest week of the year as our journey brings us to Palm Sunday. The second collection on Palm Sunday is to support the works of our local St. Elizabeth Seton Conference of St. Vincent dePaul.

This is the major fund-raising drive of our Seton conference for the year. SVdP is a lay-based organization that is self-supported through your donations and its own fund-raising projects. We receive no funds from the Diocese as we go forward with our mission.

Last year our conference assisted the needy right here in Golden Gate with over $66,000 in mostly rent and utility payments. The need continues to be great. Those living with poverty right here within the parish boundaries of St. Elizabeth are among the neediest in Collier County.

Please consider a generous gift to help us bring the face of God to those who are the least among us. Please know that your gifts are accepted with a sense on sincere gratitude as well as our pledge that we are dedicated to using your gifts to do the most good for those that we serve. Thank you!!

This year’s Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, March 24th from 10 am-Noon. Please meet at the school field. We are still accepting candy donations up until Wednesday, March 21st.

Come find out more about God’s plan for Joy, Romance and Love in YOUR marriage. You’ll be glad you did! The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend in this area is at the OLPH Retreat Center in Venice May 4th - 6th. Space IS limited, so please apply early! prayer request

This year, instead of a penance service, on Friday, March 23, from 4-8 pm, and Saturday, March 24, from 9am-Noon, we will be holding the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

A representative for Christians for the Holy Land will present works from artisans of the Christian Faith living in the Holy Land. These sisters and brothers are persecuted for their beliefs and Faith Tradition. Your purchase of items affords them to earn of living. Items may be viewed in before and after all week-end Masses on March 24 & 25.

We hold in our prayers all our construction workers who have committed themselves to our church’s and school’s restoration by working many hours and on weekends. Let us continue to pray and hope that our return will be soon.

Do you feel on edge? Like something is missing in your life? Could that be a yearning in your soul, aching to have a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ? Come to the Living Water Prayer Group on Mondays from 7 pm-8 pm in the Faith Formation office (FF). Come find the peace that comes from knowing Christ.

Time is limited to participate in St. Elizabeth Seton’s Easter Lilies Memorial!

The issue of the obnoxious interest rates charged by pay-day lenders is one that has a terrible negative effect on the poor in Naples, in Florida and all over the country. Often those in need of immediate cash become victims of this practice through loans that with compounding can exceed 300%. The Florida Legislature is considering a bill that would raise to even higher levels, the interest caps currently in place.

SVdP has long advocated for reform in this industry. These usurious loans only serve to create even more debt for those who can simply not afford it.

I would sincerely appreciate you spending a few short moments to visit the following website and voice your displeasure with this bill to your state legislator(s).
