What is Spice/K2?

How Does Spice Affect the Brain? Spice users report experiences similar to

those produced by marijuana—elevated mood, relaxation, and altered perception—and in some cases the effects are even stronger than those of marijuana.

The chemical composition of many products sold as Spice is unknown, it is likely that some varieties also contain substances that could cause effects that the user wouldn't expect

Poison Control Centers report symptoms that include rapid heart rate, vomiting, agitation, confusion, and hallucinations.

Regular users may experience withdrawal and addiction symptoms.

One public health concern is that there may be harmful heavy metal residues in Spice mixtures.

The term “bath salts” refers to an emerging family of drugs containing one or more synthetic chemicals related to cathinone, an amphetamine-like stimulant found naturally in the khat plant

Severe intoxication and dangerous health effects associated with use of bath salts have made these drugs a serious and growing public health and safety issue.
