New years morning. Friday. A very nice morning & the people came to see us & the old woman started to Johns for dance. We are all glad to see it.

Midlin cold this morning & frost. Cume (come) from the dance & I am making a few of Sufts(?) for the old women. Still cold.

Sunday. Nice morning & I sent Samme(?) (Sammie?) to Jacobs for George & Larose(?) past (passed?) him going for lumber. Still fine.

A nither (another) fine morning & quit the Sufts(?) for the lumber & the boys came to night. Still fine to night.

A nither fine morning & we made a start & campt (camped) & set out traps. Still fine to night.

A nither fine morning & Antoine Brassu (Brazzeau?) caught us at Red Willow Camp. Still fine to night.

A nither fine morning & we started & travelled all day & we made the Bush & then came on to Vermilin (Vermillion?) & campt. Still fine to night.
