Respect Life Corner:Mary, Pro-Life Inspiration: Mother Mary has many beautiful titles; Patroness of the Americas, Patroness of the New Evangelization and Patroness of the Unborn. Mary is also a perfect example for authentic Christian living. She shows immense faith and total gift of herself at the Annunciation; she shows sensitivity and her charitable spirit when she visits Elizabeth; we see her love and maternal care for new live when she shelters baby Jesus in the stable; we see her at the foot of the cross, with her heart open for all of humanity. Learn, Act, Connect, Pray: How can we follow Mary’s example of living? How can we strive to be life-giving and love-affirming towards those in our communities? If you don’t already, look into praying the Rosary or the Angelus or the Regina Caeli with those that are close to you and remember Mary’s message of life, love, and true freedom.

Bulletin Insert:Fifth Sunday of Easter – 19 May 2019 Acts 14:21-27. Psalm 145:8-9, 10-11, 12-13. Revelation 21:1-5a. John 13:31-33a, 34-35. The love command. Today, Paul and Barnabas proclaim Good News. John sees a new heaven and a new earth. Jesus tells us how to live within this resurrected reality: love one another. Short. Not always easy. But profound. Fr. Clarence Rivers wrote “God Is Love” in 1964 – listen to this compelling refrain (John 4:6) and song at: http://www.godsongs.net/2015/09/god-is-love-and-he-who-abides-in-love-abides-in-love-clarence-rivers.html.

How has God loved me? Who will I choose to love? What will I do? Doing mercy work is a perfect way to

manifest the love command. What will I do this week?

Vocation Corner "When I began to seriously consider entering the seminary during my first year in college at the University of Nebraska, I remember being a little afraid of what the seminary would be like.  Would the men be normal?  Did entering the seminary mean that I would necessarily become a priest?  Now after having been in the seminary seven years, I can say what a blessing it has been.  Being together with men who desire to serve Christ and His Church is edifying, and the opportunities it has given me for experiencing the national and universal Catholic Church have been irreplaceable.  Whether or not the seminary ends in a man's ordination to the priesthood---there is always the freedom to discern that God has a different call for him---being in seminary teaches him how to be a good Catholic man."                                                                                                                     As submitted by Father Tobias Letak, ordained to the Priesthood on June 4, 2016, in Omaha, NE
