What’s in a Name – You’re Killing Me, S’mores You’re Killing Me S’mores This deconstructed S’More dessert is named for a quote from the 1993 film "The Sandlot". In one scene, after being asked by Ham Porter if he wanted a S'more, Scotty Smalls replies several times with the question, "Some more what?". After his frustration grew with Scotty, Ham replies with, "You're killing me, Smalls." As for S’mores themselves, the first published recipe for “some mores" was in a 1927 Girl Scout publication. Loretta Scott Crew, who made them by the campfire, is credited with the recipe. The Graham cracker was inspired by the preaching of Sylvester Graham, who was strongly influenced by the 19th-century temperance movement. Graham believed that a vegetarian diet anchored by home- made whole grain bread, made from wheat coarsely ground at home, as part of a lifestyle that involved minimizing pleasure and stimulation of all kinds. Graham claimed his diet was more than simply a way to stay healthy—he viewed it as imperative to stopping the moral collapse of humanity. Cocoa with Kahlua Kahlua, means 'House of the Acolhua people' in the Mexican Nahuatl (NAH-watt-ul) language, from which the coffee-vanilla liquor takes its name since established in 1936.
