Meeting at Kızıldere Secondary School, Nazilli, Turkey

“The Source of our Health”

21th – 25th April 2014

The fifth meeting of the Comenius Project “The Source Of Our Health “ took place at Kızıldere Secondary School from 21th April to 25th April 2014.

The meeting was attented by 26 teachers from the following schools :

1. 1. CEIP Ntra. Sra De Fatima, Molina de Segura, Murcia, Spain 2. Osnovna Skola Bol, Split, Croatia 3. Primary School No 8, Jelenia Gora, Poland 3. Osnovna Skola Bol,Split,Croatia4. St Rchard ‘s Catholic Primary,Chichester ,United Kıngdom.5. 8th Primary School of Zografou,Athens ,Greece

And by the teachers and staff from Kızıldere Secondary School,Nazilli,Turkey.

The official language of the meeting was English. During the meetings we aimed to achieve the objectives of our Comenius project:

To improve our knowledge about healthy eating, good habits and physical activity in each country.

To encourage all pupils to learn languages and use ICT. To understand and develop respect for our cultural differences. To teach lifelong learning skills.

All visiting teachers stayed at Nysa Hotel in Sultanhisar.

DAY 1 – Tuesday, 22th April

All visiting teachers were collected from Nysa hotel after breakfast. They arrived at the Kızıldere Secondary School where they were welcomed and greeted by our students and teachers.

During the welcome ceremony,the students performed folk dance.Members of each team were introduced to the students.The presents were given.After the ceremony ,coffee break was given at the teachers room.Then the meeting of the co-ordinators began.Other visiting teachers were taken on a tour of our school.They visited our classroom and met the children.The children love them very much.The visiting teachers watched an experiment which was done by our teacher of science ;Zeynep.They made paper marbling (Ebru ) with the lead of Our teacher of art ;Meltem.They were good at paper marbling.

The visiting teachers were taken to a restaurant for lunch.After lunch ,They had an opportunity to ride a horse.They liked it very much.Then they were taken to Zübeyde Hanım Kındergarden.They visited the classroom and watched children ‘s folk dance.They ate delicious cookies and fruits.

After the visit of Zubeyde Hanım Kındergarden the teachers visited the centre of city.(Nazilli )Then they were taken to Nysa Hotel.

DAY 2 –Wednesday, 23th April

After breakfast ,the visiting teachers were taken to Kızıldere Secondary School.They watched the ceremony of 23th April Childrens Day Celebration.(folk dance,other dance Show,poets,songs,competitions)

After the ceremony ,they were taken to a garden restaurant for lunch.Second day went on with shopping at the city centre.In the evening ,the visiting teachers were accompanied by the staff of Kızıldere Secondary School at the restaurant of Nysa hotel for Turkish night.It was amazing.They had dinner and danced.The visiting teachers were given “certificate of attandance”

DAY 3 – Thursday, 24 th April

Polish ,Spanish ,Croatian ,Greek team visited Aphrodisias (an ancient city )They were accompanied by our teacher of math ;Ramazan ,our teacher of art ;Meltem ,teacher of english ;Yasemin and the tourist guide.After visit of Aphrodisias,they were taken to Pamukkale and they loved travertine very much.It was wonderful and memorable.Then they went back to the hotel.

While Polish,Spanish,Croatian ,Greek team were visiting Aphrodisias and Pamukkale ,English team was visiting Ephesus ,Kuşadası,Mary’s house.Ziya and the tourist guide accompanied them.

Final Conclusion

The visit of Nazilli was wonderful and amazing.We were glad to host them.We tried to do our best to introduce our culture and hospitality and make them happy.Our students love them very much.We learnt a lot of thing from each other.We had wonderful time together.

Conclusion from the co-ordinators meeting

During the meetings we agreed the following

-work to be done on 5 important national and international sport events

-A final questionnaire to be issued on level of knowledge of the associated countries.
