Delhi Photo Card #1

1. In your Unit book, place the sticker that says, “Delhi Photo Card #1: My Observations”. Then below it write what you see in this picture. What kinds of shapes do you see? What are people doing? What colors are present? Describe the photo as much as possible so that someone could imagine the photo that you saw without ever looking at it.

2. Place one of your stickers that says, “Delhi Photo Card #1: Predictions” in your unit book. Below it write your predictions about what kind of building this is. What do you think it is used for? Why do you think it is shaped like it is?

3. Open the explanation envelope and read the explanation about this photo card.

4. Take a sticker that says, “Delhi Photo Card #1: Now I know…” And place it in your notebook. Below that

sticker, write at least one thing that you learned about the image in the photograph.

Delhi Photo Card #2

1. What do you notice about this picture? Record what you notice in your Unit Notebook. Put a “Delhi Photo Card #2: What I noticed…” sticker at the top of the page to show what you’re writing about.

2. How many symmetrical shapes do you see in your picture? Write a complete sentence to share this answer in your unit notebook.

3. Open up the “Explanation Envelope” and read the information inside. Take a “Delhi Photo Card #2: Now I know…” sticker and place it in your notebook, then write what you learned about this building? What is it? When would a child in India go to this building?

Delhi Photo Card #3

1. What do you see in this picture? Discuss with the members of your group?

2. These gentlemen are musicians. Do their instruments look like any instruments that you’ve seen before? What do they look like? How are they similar? How are they different? Discuss with your group and write your ideas down in your Unit Notebook.

3. Look at the woman in the photograph. What kind of clothing is she wearing? Why do you think she is dressed that way? Discuss with your group.

4. Look into the Explanation Envelope to find out the names of the instruments, what they sound like, and why she is dressed that way!
