Event Date: Saturday, Sept 30, 2017(Applications Due By September 20, 2017

Event Time: 1:00 pm – Bed Review & Judging on Center St. 2:00 pm – Bed Races on Main St.

We’re looking for some bed racing enthusiasts to put on a show…and win a little cash and bragging rights in the process! This event is open to civic groups, community organizations, volunteer groups, or even neighbors who just want to get in on the fun and excitement of old fashioned bed racing. The beds are categorized and compete by weight against their peers.

BED REVIEWBeds will be reviewed and judged in three categories with plaques being awarded in each category:

Most Original Bed Design Best Decorated Bed/Team Festival Theme Award (2014 theme is not yet available.)

RACESTeams will race in groups of 2 down Main Street in front of the First Congregational Church. Places will be determined by best overall times.

Best two times will have a "race off." Cash* awards to the first three places and a trophy to the first-place team.

*Prizes will be in the form of Gift Cards: 1st Prize – $150, 2nd Prize – $75, 3rd Prize – $50

RULES

1. Bed must sit with all four wheels touching the ground.2. Someone must be on the bed.3. The bed must have a mattress.4. The handle bars or steering mechanism of the bed must be within the width of

the bed.5. A seat belt must hold the passenger in place while on the bed.6. No bed rider under the age of 14.7. Bed must pass inspection by the Bed Race Committee before the race.
