Introductionfor children
I hope you like the pictures and models in this book as much as I did when I saw them. I was a young boy and I loved to colour the pictures with col-oured pencils, crayons or paint. If you paint, it’s a good idea to put a sheet of paper under the page you are painting and then let it dry so that the paint does not go through to the next page in this book.
You can find the stories for all these pictures and models in your Bible. When I was younger I loved reading the stories in the Good News Bible. It has easy drawings in it that you can colour in if your parents agree. It’s best for you to use coloured pencils in your Good News Bible.
The Good News Bible has interesting headings for stories and sections. Those headings show you where to find the same story or passage in other parts of the Bible. The last picture and story in this book is about children. The Bible reading for that last picture is Matthew 19:13-15. The Good News Bible uses this heading for that story: Jesus Blesses Little Children. There you can see that the same story is also in Mark 10:13-16 and Luke 18:15-17.
If you are old enough to use the internet you can find this book on my web page: Renewal Journal (www.renewaljournal.com). There you can see and download a free PDF copy of this book. Then you can choose a page and print that out if you want to colour the model and cut it up.
If you are not old enough to do that, perhaps your parents or your teacher can do that for you. Ask nicely and remember to thank them for their help.
I hope you enjoy colouring these pictures or making these models and reading the story about the picture or model.
These stories are the most famous stories in the whole world. Millions of people still read them and love them. Best of all, millions of people love Je-sus and they thank God that he loves us all. I hope you do too.

Introductionfor parents & teachers
Bible Story Pictures & Models is a colouring book with pictures and mod-els for children and parents or teachers to enjoy.
When I was a young boy, my mother and Sunday School teachers gave me these models. They copied the models onto coloured cardboard using tra-cing paper and carbon paper. So I enjoyed countless hours making or col-ouring or playing with these models and pictures. I learned and was fascin-ated by the stories that these pictures and models illustrated for me.
My mother gave me copies of copies of these pages and I, in turn, copied them when, about 16, I began teaching children in Sunday School. I don’t think I ever saw the original drawings. So these pictures are copies of cop-ies of copies! In this book I have kept a lot of the story titles my mother used and also the original printing by hand in some of the pictures and models.
You can copy these models and pictures with a photo copier. It’s quicker and easier now. These models are freely available in PDF and Word docu-ments on www.renewaljournal.com ready for you to use. You can print a page on stout paper or cardboard ready to use personally or in a class. If you have small children you can cut out the models for them, ready for them to colour.
I received them freely and I make them freely available for you on my Re-newal Journal website, along with my other books. This book, of course, is available in paperback. It makes a useful gift for children to colour.
The Bible verses in large print give clues to the stories and are useful as memory verses. This book gives you a year of weekly stories and activities.
You can, of course, adapt or improve these pictures and models yourself if you wish. They can give you creative ideas to use at home or in Sunday School or Children’s Church or Religious Education in school.
Parents can enjoy time with their children and their children’s friends. Teachers can enjoy time with their classes using these materials. You don’t have to use the sequence in this book. Pick your own sequence, for example at Christmas and Easter.

Songs
Only a boy named David, only a little sling
Dare to be a Daniel, dare to stand alone
Zacchaeus was a very little man
I will make you fishers of men, if you follow me
Build on the rock, the rock that ever stands
Jesus bids us shine with a clear, pure light
Jesus died for all the children, all the children of the world
Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me
Jesus loves me, this I know for the Bible tells me so
Jesus wants me for a sunbeam to shine for him each day
All the way to Calvary he went for me
Deep and wide, there’s a fountain flowing deep and wide
Do you want a pilot, signal then to Jesus
God is everywhere, his love is over all
Heads and shoulders, knees and toes, clap your hands and praise him
I am H. A. P. P. Y.
I’m in-right, out-right, up-right, down-right happy all the time
I’m in the Lord’s army
In my heart there rings a melody
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, down in my heart
Joy, joy, joy, with joy my heart is ringing
My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty
O be careful little eyes what you see
Praise him praise him, all you little children
Running over, my cup’s full and running over
Tangles, tangles, the tangles I’ve been in
Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you Lord for saving my soul
The B. I. B. L. E., yes that’s the book for me
The best book to read is the Bible
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine
Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are
Wide, wide as the ocean, high as the heaven above

We sang Happy Birthday with a second verse:
Happy Birthday to you, only one will not do!
Born again means salvation, how many have you?
These songs introduced me joyfully to the Good News. I entertained my younger sisters and brothers as we sang songs alphabetically while washing and drying the dishes and pots and pans, singing All the way to Calvary through to Zacchaeus was a very little man. Maybe we skipped Q and X!
You can find the words and music for those songs on Google.

Notes
Many models can be stuck onto a cardboard base. You can put words that are near the model onto the base, or add your own.
Some models can be used for various stories, eg. baby, boat, basket, house, church.
3 Noah’s Ark. This is from the picture and model I was given as a boy in Sunday School. You may like to show pictures of current recreations of the ark from Google.
8 Jacob, and 56 Peter. Angels in the Bible do not have wings but appear as men, how-ever the traditional use of wings may symbolize their rapid mobility (Luke 24:4; John 20:12).
9-15 Joseph. This series of seven stories may cover about two months or you can com-bine some of these stories. Omit some details for children, eg Potiphar’s wife told lies about Joseph so he went to prison.
29 The Bible. Chart from http://www.somersworthfirstparish.org/library.htm used with permission. We had fun making and labelling a library of 66 matchboxes. We bought factory matchboxes before they were labelled. We made small bookshelves for them.
33 Boy Jesus. Jesus went to the Temple but now we go to churches. You may like to use drawings or pictures of the Temple in Jerusalem from Google.
39 Feeding multitudes. As a very young boy I played with the dough buns and fish in my basket for hours at home, multiplying them. I still remember it almost 80 years later.
You can make your own picture story books adapting these pictures and models.
The Appendix shows you books by my grandchildren that I published for them on Amazon. You can upload your books freely and just pay for the numbers of copies you want. See https://kdp.amazon.com/
My grandson Ethan told me the stories in his book when he was 3 and 4 and he made his own first book with writing and pictures for one of those stories. They are about helping one another.
Another grandson, Dante, composed his biography book first as a primary school as-signment which he produced by computer. I formatted it for a book and uploaded it.
