Immediate release Friday 15 th November Living Sport Sports Awards winners announced Talented sportsmen and women, coaches, volunteers, organisations and clubs from across the county were celebrated yesterday evening at the prestigious Living Sport Sports Awards attended by over 230 people. Awards were presented to 10 individuals and organisations in recognition of their sporting successes and dedication to grassroots sport in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Winners this year include Rob Huff, British Racing Car Driver and 2012 FIA World Touring Car Champion who was awarded the coveted Sports Performer of the Year sponsored by Magenta Coaching Solutions. Lauren Steadman, Para Triathlete and Paralympian, was recognised with the award for Sports Performer with a Disability sponsored by Anglia Ruskin University for her successful switch to triathlon from swimming, achieving a gold medal in the 2013 ETU Paratriathlon European Championships. The evening provided an important focal point for community sport and other winners on the night included Tony Fagelman Head Coach at Cambridge Cangaroos Trampolining Club, winner of Coach of the Year,

Living Sport Sports Awards winners announced

Talented sportsmen and women, coaches, volunteers, organisations and clubs from across

the county were celebrated yesterday evening at the prestigious Living Sport Sports Awards

attended by over 230 people. Awards were presented to 10 individuals and organisations in

recognition of their sporting successes and dedication to grassroots sport in Cambridgeshire

and Peterborough.

Winners this year include Rob Huff, British Racing Car Driver and 2012 FIA World Touring

Car Champion who was awarded the coveted Sports Performer of the Year sponsored by

Magenta Coaching Solutions. Lauren Steadman, Para Triathlete and Paralympian, was

recognised with the award for Sports Performer with a Disability sponsored by Anglia Ruskin

University for her successful switch to triathlon from swimming, achieving a gold medal in

the 2013 ETU Paratriathlon European Championships.

The evening provided an important focal point for community sport and other winners on the

night included Tony Fagelman Head Coach at Cambridge Cangaroos Trampolining Club,

winner of Coach of the Year, sponsored by Stagecoach for his role in the growth of his club

and its’ members. Sharyn Bord Cambridge Diving Club Coach received the prestigious

Services to Sport award for dedication to diving, sponsored by Living Sport and Harston and

Newton Primary School were recognised as School of the Year not only for the success of

their sporting teams but also for the varied and numerous sporting activities available to their

pupils.

Simon Fairhall, Chief Executive of LIVING SPORT said, ‘The evening was a fantastic

celebration of community sport and it was great to see so many individuals involved in sport

from the entire county come together to recognise the achievements of our winners. I’d

memorable awards ceremony this year’.

The 8th LIVING SPORT Awards Ceremony took place at Burgess Hall, St Ives on the

evening of 14th November 2013.
