President Lester Millet III acted as chairperson, while Mike Aertker acted as secretary of the meeting.

Mr. Millet called the meeting to order at 10:06 am.

Mr. Millet led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence.

SAC Eric Rommal made some introductory comments and welcomed the group. He spoke about Director Wray’s recent visit to the N.O. Field Office and his vision for the FBI moving forward. He thanked members for attending today’s meeting and for being a part of InfraGard.

Mr. Millet introduced Sheriff Joseph P. Lopinto as our speaker and provided a brief biography.

Sheriff Lopinto spoke about his career and path to becoming sheriff of Jefferson Parish. He discussed how law enforcement has changed over the years and the challenges faced by today’s law enforcement. He discussed the

new Criminal Intelligence Center and how it will operate in the region as well as changes to how the JPSO is approaching solving and preventing crimes in Jefferson Parish.

SA Harris (FBI InfraGard Coordinator) spoke about the role and importance of InfraGard and the accomplishments of the Louisiana Chapter. He thanked the membership for all of the important information that has been passed along to the FBI.

SA Jeff Hirsch with the JTTF made an announcement about a drone issue in the area and asked the group for assistance. There was a discussion about needed changes to legislation to protect critical infrastructure.

Mr. Millet gave the Treasurer’s report.

Chief Richard Bordner spoke about the Board of Directors Election for 2019-2020. He recognized our long term members who are now term limited out. He explained the current ballot and went over the recommendations of the nominating committee.

Ballots were distributed and collected for the election of Board of Directors for 2019-2020. Mike Aertker (Secretary) tallied the ballots and all nominees were elected for the 2019-2020 term.

Mr. Millet thanked Mark Melancon and Rick Bauer of Intelligent Transportation Systems for sponsoring lunch for today’s meeting.

Mr. Millet asked if there was any old or new business.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, it was adjourned on motion duly made and carried.
