This course will develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a range of different sporting environments. This is an ideal course for people who want to pursue a career in sport and is also an ideal foundation for students to enhance their education by progressing onto the next level, which may include further study or employment. Is this course right for me? To be accepted for this course you will need to have a genuine interest in sport and be committed to pursuing a career in sport. You will also require four GCSEs graded C or above (including maths and/or English) or the equivalent to start the course with us. What does the course involve? During your course you will undertake a number written assignments for different modules. You will also learn how to plan and deliver presentations, be involved in group tasks and activities as well as working individually. You will be expected to perform in all learning activities both inside and outside the classroom environment. The course involves a range of practical and theory lessons that aim to develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a number of different jobs within sport (e.g. sports coach/fitness instructor/sports therapist). What is my commitment to the course? You are expected to complete work out of classroom time in the form of research, study, homework and assignments. This is a full time course and it is important that you commit to full time learning. What will I get out of this course?

You will achieve a level 3 subsidiary diploma or a 90 credit diploma in sport. There is the option of achieving a diploma or an extended diploma level 3 qualification in sport through completion of a second year if this is required, especially in relation to university entrance. Completion of the course will enhance your skills and boost your confidence through achievement.

What can I do with this qualification?

You will now be able to continue your studies to complete the diploma or extended diploma at level 3 working towards university entrance, apprenticeship or seek employment within the public or private sector.
