AHS Jacketeer Spring Show April 12th & 13th 2019 “One Hit WondersThe end is near! This is the last fundraiser the booster club will hold this year. Spring Show requires help from every family in the organization. Working the Show: One adult from each Jacketeer family must sign up to work at least 1 shift between the Friday and Saturday evening show. Failure to sign up will result in removal from Spring Show. Failure to work designated shift will result in exclusion from Jacketeer Formal. Please sign up on the Jacketeer website under the Spring Show tab. Deadline to sign up for shift is Monday, April 1st Programs: The sale of business ads is vital to the success of our show because it is a great tool to get members of the community to come see the girls perform. Every Jacketeer must sell at least one ½ page business ad. The business ad should serve as an advertisement for the business that is purchasing it. All ads must be typed and fit into a standard 1 inch margin. Both the ads and the monies are due by Monday, March 18 th . The Jacketeer who sells the most business ads will be awarded a gift card at the Jacketeer Formal. If you fail to turn in a business ad, you will be removed from all dances in Spring Show. Checks payable to the Jacketeer Booster Club. A personal ad is a great way to show your Jacketeer how proud you are of all of their accomplishments this year! After you have sold your ½ page business ad, you may purchase limitless personal ads. Tickets: Tickets the show are $9 each pre-sale and $10 each at the door. Everyone who watches the show and who is not a student performer must pay to enter both evenings. Each Jacketeer will receive 10 tickets. If the tickets are lost or stolen, the Jacketeer is responsible for the money. All ticket money is due Thursday, April 11th at dress rehearsal. If you fail to turn your ticket money and remaining tickets in that evening, then you will pay full price per ticket. Checks payable to the Jacketeer Booster Club. Rehearsals: All practices after school are closed to the public; no parents, no booster club members, no booster club officers, no grandparents etc... may come in to watch practice. The booster club may provide light snacks if necessary. DVDs: A professional Videographer will be in attendance at the Jacketeer Spring Show to record the show. DVDs are available for $30.00. DVD Orders will be due by Wednesday, April 17 th . Checks payable to the Jacketeer Booster Club Supplies: Each Jacketeer is responsible for a 12 pack of soft drinks by Monday, April 8 th to sell at the concessions during intermission. SENIOR BOARDS

Each senior may make a “poster” to be displayed on the senior boards during Spring Show. They may be 2’ feet (24 inches) wide and 4’ feet tall/long (48 inches) NO LONGER!!!!! They will be hung vertically (the shape of door) If you chose to not follow directions regarding length, your board will not fit and it will not be hung. They may be decorated in any way you wish. Be colorful, BE CREATIVE! The poster board is supposed to represent you- so include things that are important to you. (pictures of you at church, family, Sr pictures, friends, pets, dance team, school activities, prom, banquets, letters etc…) School appropriate pictures only. Things you can use are- feather boas, stickers, pictures, scrap book things, fringe, bells, designed paper, glitter, sequins, rhinestones, Make things 3D, Borders, rick rack, ribbon, pipe cleaners, mini mirrors, etc… Posters will be hung in alphabetical order with consideration to color and style…..so don’t ask for any special treatment. MUST BE MADE WITH A POSTER BOARD!!!!!! Not cardboard, not foam board, not paper, not wood…. Please follow directions!

SENIOR SLIDESHOWThe slideshow for spring show is for seniors. Each senior must turn in 10 pictures of themselves from childhood through high school. These may be turned in through an email or a flash drive. Please turn in additional pictures with senior Jacketeers... not selfies. In order for the slide show to be created, organized and completed in a timely manner. PICTURE DEADLINE: MONDAY, APRIL 1st. Don’t forget your senior quote!

Timothy Menefee Scholarship

Established in 2007 In memory of Tim Menefee, the AHS Jacketeer Booster Club will be offering one $500 scholarship to any 2017 graduating Jacketeer. To be eligible for the scholarship, please answer the following questions in 1000 words or less and return to Mrs. Robinson by Monday, April 1 st . The committee will review all applications and announce the recipient at the Jacketeer Formal. All essays must be typed and turned in to Mrs. Robinson by 6:15 a.m. in a folder with the student’s ID number on the outside. 1. What has it meant to you to be an Alvin High School Jacketeer? 2. What have you learned from being an Alvin High School Jacketeer and how will it help yourin the future? 3. What are your plans beyond high school? *** Do not include your name, any rank or special positions you held within your essay. Please include your student identification number in the top right corner of your essay to ensure the integrity of the selection process. ***

4 Year Membership Jacketeer Scholarship Requirements:

● 500 Merits for senior year.● Less than 15 Demerits in each calendar year of membership.● 100 hours of Community Service over the course of 4 years.● Completed 4 years on the Jacketeer Dance Team● 1 Letter of Recommendation from a teacher.● 500 word essay discussing this topic - What have you gained from your 4 years in Jacketeers that has prepared

you to be successful in college?○ Essay must be typed, double spaced, 12 point font, 1 inch margins.○ Use your school ID to maintain anonymity.○ Do not name any leadership titles in your essay ○ Must be submitted in a manilla envelope, with school ID on the front, to Eve Robinson by 4/1.○ All scholarship packets will be reviewed by selected group of leaders in the community.○ Recipients will be announced at the Annual Jacketeer Formal.
