STAFF TRAININGThis year, we had many trainings for our staff. On the 13th of May, we ran our clinical training day. The training covered the admission process, Stage 1 recovery assessment, observations and response. Additionally, we held Diabetic education, Basic Life Support training and education on new patient monitors. Not only onsite, we also had trainings and assessments online. It includes Hand Hygiene, Medication management, Blood management, COVID 19 training and critical care training.

COMPLIMENTS FROM PATIENTSHi Jessy,Thanks for the chat on Tuesday morning while I was in recovery after my operation.I just wanted to drop you a line to follow up letting you know how fabulous your hospital was. And how much the little things made all the difference. I have previously experienced pre op anxiety so badly that I refused to leave the change cubicle until I was basically sedated... I had no such anxiety at Barton private. I was scheduled first off the list with Dr Quinlivan and I’m certain that helped. But beyond that, other hospitals have left me waiting lying on a hospital bed, wheeled around behind closed doors without explaining anything. Your lovely nurse gave me a brief tour as we walked through to take blood pressure and get me gowned up. Then she left me in a recliner chair watching the news with a warm blanket! That warm blanket was like a hug! Sitting up with dignity with the tv as a distraction until I was walked into theatre was such a relief! Dr Quinlivan held my hand knowing I was anxious while the humorous Dr Upton (who introduced himself and joked with me putting me comfortably at ease) inserted the cannula (which could bend!). Next thing I know I’m walking back to recovery, being offered options to drink, a variety of sandwiches and having my husband called in to keep me company until I could leave. Nurses, doctors (Dr Quinlivan) and yourself stopping to chat and making me feel very comfortable and not at all forgotten.Thank you for running a hospital that remembers that what you guys do every day can be very scary as a patient. The little things really do matter to an anxious patient like me and I am telling everyone about my wonderful hospital experience!Have a wonderful Christmas and make sure to wear those fabulous red shoes as often as possible!Kind regardsBeth

Hello,I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the level of care given by all of the people who dealt with me regarding my operation last week. I have never experienced such kindness and sincerity within the healthcare system. Every single doctor, anaesthetist, nurse and surgeon that spoke to me was so well spoken and approachable. It sounds so trivial but I lost count of how many people tucked the blanket over my feet during my recovery. Something so small is really going the extra mile and it didn't go un noticed with me. It was refreshing to see people who obviously valued their jobs and who were passionate about their work. So often you see people who aren't really destined to be doing what they are but the team who dealt with me could not have been more suited to their positions. I was very nervous about my surgery, I think it was more the unknown, but everyone did their utmost to give me the confidence and knowledge to relax. Julie is absolutely fantastic at what she does and I would just like to give her my most sincere thanks for what she has done for me. I now have a new lease of pain free life that I never thought was possible. If it's possible I would hugely appreciate it if this email could be sent to Julie and also the hospital side of things too? Everyone definitely deserves the praise and I only wish I could do more to say thank you.Kindest regards,Sophie
