Attention Parents / Visitors of Elm Street: Asking all visitors who are entering Elm Street during O’Canada to take a moment, remove their hats and stand at attention until both our anthem is over and announcements have been read. Thank you for being a part of our team as we lead by example for our children.

Character Traits: This month's character trait is kindness.

Ask your child how they can practice this trait both at home and at school.

New Locked Doors/Buzz-In System:Another reminder to parents that all of Elm Street’s doors (including the main door) will be locked everyday. There is a buzzer located at the main door in which you can press and then wait to be buzzed in to the school. As always, the safety and security of our students is of the utmost importance to staff here at Elm Street. It is very important that we work together to ensure that children are arriving by 8:40 every morning and that arrangements are made to pick your child up at the designated areas outside at dismissal time. If your child is late arriving to school, they will have to be buzzed in at the main door.

Other News:

Thank you Bulk Barn:Thanks to a generous donation from the Bulk Barn, Elm Street School will be having a candy gram sale on Wednesday May 16th. Students must order in advance, due date is Friday May 11th. Candy grams are $1.00 each. If you would like to purchase one for your child, or purchase one for a special friend from your child, please send a note and money to your child`s homeroom teacher by Friday May 11 th . All monies raised will help our school purchase items to support student learning.

Year End Field Trip:All students in Grades K-5 will be going to Shining Waters on Friday, June 22 nd . Your student will be given an information sheet to take home so please keep an eye out for this in the next week or two. As in previous years, please ensure your child comes prepared for the day with a hat, sweater or jacket, sunscreen, snack, lunch & water.

Rain date will be Monday, June 25th.

Thank you Consolidated Credit Union:A huge Elm Street Thank You! to the Consolidated Credit Union in Summerside for sponsoring a free lunch day on Thursday, June 21 st . A hotdog, fries & a drink will be provided to each student. How very generous! Thank you from staff & students!
