Morning Prayer

OPENING PRAISE

Our help is in the name of the Lordwho is the resurrection and the firstborn from the dead.

Alleluia, Christ is risen!The Lord is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed for us;therefore, let us celebrate the feast! 1 Corinthians

5:7–8O Lord, open my lips,

and my mouth will declare your praise. Psalm 51:5 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,

that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.Psalm 90:14

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Christ has been raised from the dead,the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

For as by a man came death,by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.

For as in Adam all die,so also in Christ shall all be made alive. Alleluia!

Christ being raised from the dead will never die again;death no longer has dominion over him.

For the death that he died, he died to sin, once for all;but the life he lives, he lives to God.

If Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin,the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead

will also give life to your mortal bodiesthrough his Spirit who dwells in you. Alleluia!

HYMN

Soldiers of Christ, Arise

Soldiers of Christ, arise,and put your armor on,strong in the strength which God suppliesthrough his Eternal Son;strong in the Lord of hosts,and in his mighty pow'r,who in the strength of Jesus trustsis more than conqueror.

Stand then in his great might,with all his strength endued.But take, to arm you for the fight,the panoply of God.Leave no unguarded place,no weakness of the soul.Take ev'ry virtue, ev'ry grace,and fortify the whole.

To keep your armor bright,attend with constant care,still walking in your Captain's sight,and watching unto prayer.From strength to strength go on,wrestle and fight and pray.Tread all the pow'rs of darkness down,and win the well-fought day.

Alleluia, Christ is risen!The Lord is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed for us;therefore, let us celebrate the feast! 1 Corinthians

5:7–8Stay with us, Lord, for it is evening, and the day is almost over.

Be our light in the darkness, and grant us a peaceful night.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord;

I have no good apart from you.”As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,

in whom is all my delight.The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;

their drink offerings of blood I will not pour outor take their names on my lips.

The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup;you hold my lot.

The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.

I bless the LORD who gives me counsel;in the night also my heart instructs me.

I have set the LORD always before me;because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;my flesh also dwells secure.

For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,or let your holy one see corruption

You make known to me the path of life;in your presence there is fullness of joy;
