ORACIONES CONDICIONALES 2 y 3 TIPO

( IMPROBABLES e IMPOSIBLES) Analiza las siguientes oraciones.-

- If I savemoney, I will buythis car(si ahorro dinero, comprar este coche)

- If Isavedmoney, I would savemoney (si ahorrara dinero, comprara este coche)

Las dos oraciones significan lo mismo. Cul es la diferencia entre ellas entonces?.

Simplemente es una cuestin de actitud y perspectiva del interlocutor. El grado de probabilidad

que se atribuye al primero ejemplo es bastante ms alto que el segundo.

Por tanto, es una cuestin de probabilidad.

Observa el siguiente ejemplo.

If I wonthe lottery, I would stopworking(si ganara la lotera dejara de trabajar)

Tendra mucho sentido decir,If I winthe lottery, I will stopworking(si gano la lotera dejar

de trabajar)? . La respuesta es que nadie dira esta oracin, a no ser que viera que hay bastantes

opciones de que ocurra.

Las oraciones condicionales de 2 tipo se forman con la correspondencia verbal Past Simple-

Conditional Simple

If she invitedme, I would goto her party(si ella me invitara, ira a su fiesta)

Past Simple1 Conditional Simple

1En realidad, aunque la proposicin introducida por If tiene el verbo en pasado simple, esta forma verbal

corresponde a un pretrito imperfecto de subjuntivo ( invitara o invitase).

En el caso del verbo to be, la forma que se emplea en la proposicin subordinada es were para

todas las personas.

Ej: Ifhe werehere, I would tell him everything

We would live at peace if we weremore tolerant

If I were you, I would.Esta estructura es muy habitual en ingls y se emplea para dar

consejos o recomendaciones. Aqu de nuevo, podemos ver la forma were referida a su sujeto

de primera persona I

Adems de would, existen una serie de verbos con su propias formas verbales para el tiempo

condicional. Could/ might2(podra).

Ej: If you fought for it, youcould get it(si lucharas por ello, podras conseguirlo)

ORACIONES CONDICIONALES 3 TIPO (IMPOSIBLES)

Analiza las siguientes oraciones.

- If he gets up early, he will not be late (Si se levanta temprano, no llegar tarde)

- If he got up early , he would not be late(si se levantara temprano, no llegara tarde)

- If hehad got upearly, he wouldnt have beenlate( si se hubiera levantado

temprano no habra llegado tarde)

If he had got up early, he wouldnt have been late, es un ejemplo de las oraciones

condicionales de 3 tipo. Estamos hablando de una situacin en el pasado, en la cual no se

cumpli la condicin, ( l no se levant tarde) y como consecuencia tampoco se pudo cumplir

la accin en la oracin principal (lleg tarde).

A diferencia de los tipos previos de oraciones condicionales, en el tercer tipo el grado de

probabilidad es nulo, inexistente. Se trata de situaciones pasadas en las que ya no se puede

hacer nada para cambiarlas. Habitualmente se emplea el tercer tipo de condicionales para

lamentarse o alegrarse de que algo hubiera o no hubiera pasado.

Este tipo se forma con la combinacin verbal Past Perfect Conditional Perfect Su

estructura es como la del segundo tipo pero con aspecto perfectivo.

3rd type Past Perfect- Conditional Perfect

La estructura de las oraciones condicionales de 3 tipo tiene apenas variaciones. El past

perfect no tiene variables, y el condicional perfect ofrece estas posibilidades:

would have + participle.

could have + participle

might have + participle.

Si el verbo de la oracin principal en este tercer tipo est en negativa, la partcula not se

aade al primer auxiliar.
