CrossFit

Created by Greg Glassman

Saw bodybuilders getting bigger but wasn’t convince that they were in great shape.

Glassman thought that in order to be in shape you had to push your body to the max

That also meant that you needed to keep your body guessing during your workout.

Not all the workouts were designed to build power, muscle, and endurance.

CrossFit

Not all the workouts were designed to build power, muscle, and endurance.

Full body workout for every workout.

Goal of CrossFit is to hit all levels of fitness not just packing on muscle.

In CrossFit you train muscles equally to avoid risk of injury.

Pros of CrossFit

You don’t do the same workouts week after week.

You set your own standards because you know what your body can handle.

You will become cut and defined.

It also will enhance your muscle endurance.

Cons of CrossFit

It isn’t the best way to pack on muscle.

Tired + lifting = tearing and the possibility straining of muscles

CrossFit is something that you will have to build your body up to.

Breaks down the joints and muscles in the body.

Myofacial Release

You put a foam roller on the ground lay you soar muscle over the roller. Using your body weight to role back and forth over the roller to release tension and trigger points

It is affective because it massages the facia in your muscle. (The plastic rap around your muscles)

Therapist, trainer, and coaches are using Myofacial Release methods to decrease injury and increase flexibility.

By massaging the Facia you give your muscle energy and support needed to recover.

By stretching you Facia you allow blood flow through your muscles. This will allow your muscles more flexibility and energy.

Rolling is done before the workout to give you more energy and flexibility for your workout.

After the workout so that you can get blood flow through the muscles to build up stamina and preventing them from tightening up.
