MEMBERSHIP & BUSINESS UNIT UPDATES
We are in the process of splitting MBU up into 2 units. One being a
business unit & the other unit being a Media Unit. We are having
many meetings in order to hash out all the details. Once unit
responsibilities have been worked out, a description will be
published in the password.
We have heard that one of our new vans has arrived in Sydney &
the other two vans, are on route from New Brunswick! We are
hoping to take possession of them as soon as possible. We are also
looking into getting secure parking in the downtown area. We have
decided to use Cambridge Suites for the next few months.

HOUSE MEETING UPDATES
Issue #1: Can we get the MAPP Training started?
Consensus: The Club wants to have MAPP Training each year. The group of
five trainers will meet with Colleen to consider getting this off the ground.
Issue #2: How do we address breaches of guidelines in the Clubhouse
(stemming, personal use of computers, etc.)
Consensus: We agree with the definition of Stemming:
“Stemming is when you ask someone for any item or object that
they have that you don’t have but you want or need.”
(THIS ISSUE IS CARRIED OVER)
What to do when there is bad Weather:
1. Take a thermos & fill it with hot water to make tea or coffee before the storm comes.
2. Buy more canned and dried food.
3. Fill the bathtub with cold water in case your water is shut off. Use that water to flush
your toilet.
4. If you walk, watch out for fallen trees and live wires.
5. Check your flashlight and radio to make sure you have fully
charged batteries.
6. Use a Coleman stove if needed (outside only!).
7. Prepare ice cubes before the storm hits.
8. Use a battery radio if you have one.
9. Unplug all household appliances (except for the fridge & stove) in case of thunder.

FREE YOUR MIND UPDATES
Hello all you Free Your Mind fans! We are still in operation on the third floor, in our office and the
Wellness Room. There are odds and ends to finish such as gathering photos and videos of the big
day. The number of people in attendance was almost overwhelming and we have pics and videos of
everything from the Flash Mob Dance to the Wellness Fair, Family Events and Talent Showcase.
There were so many people who helped us with Free Your Mind that it is impossible to name them
all. During the month of August we will be having a party open to everyone in the Club to thank
those involved in making May 31 such a special day.
On a personal note, I would like to thank all those who came to help me in the office, at the Region-
al, in meetings and around town. I was amazed at the number of folks who gladly contributed to
the Promotions piece of the festival. I could not have done my job so effectively without your help.
If anyone would like to see or copy what we have, please come up to the third floor or contact Chiyo.

MIKE’S CORNY JOKES
Camp MacLeod was awesome. Let me tell you all about it. Lots of funny things
happened.
Jeff, Eugene, and Paul had a special flavor of popcorn. I
shocked them when I added the fake beetles for extra flavor.
Someone thought a dog used their car as a toilet. They didn’t
know I put the fake dog poo on the hood.
I put a fake eyeball on Carol Ann and told her that I had my eye on her.
During karaoke night I did an impres-
sion of Milli Vanilli, the only difference
between me and them was that I wasn’t
lip singing. Then I turned my hat on
backwards and did my impression of
Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby”.
During the dance I placed a toilet brush
between my legs, I looked like I had a
bunny rabbit tail, Annezita laughed so
hard I thought she was going to explode.
Well I had a great time and I want to
rap this up by saying what you going to
do brother when the largest arms in
the world run wild on you. Mike at Mexican Night

For Constable Tara Morgan*
(d. October 25, 2012)
Tara Morgan is no more, I see as they said
Nor need I rail against the mortal way,
One rampant outgrowth in nature’s sway
And it took her and now she lies dead.
Just a few, short years since you played
At vacation, with us, shall I say
And your fun ends in a terrible way,
So we must see and so remain staid.
Such a lovely flower comes along no more,
Girl, how your mind was growing is more than plain.
As a mountie you felt as you swore
What was duty to us, but the rain
Of such a time was something we cannot ignore
And in our heart’s toil commend you to nature again.

Arts and Crafts Night Luminaries
Camp MacLeod 2014
Another year to go to camp. I really enjoyed myself with the company of staff and
members. The games were a lot of fun. At work, we sometimes don’t have time to be
all together. The food was great!! Friday, I invited my son Jason and the rest of his
family. He brought his baby girl , Hailey Grace., my first granddaughter out to visit
me at Camp MacLeod. Hailey was so pleasant, she loves people and brought smiles
to all.

A Special Day
My Granddaughter was baptized on June 21, 2014, in Margaree. Hailey has two
Nanna’s and two Great-grandmothers. On this special day we first went to see her
Great-grandmother. She is 90 years old and very smart. She lives in a large farm
house situated on 95 acres of land. What a beautiful sight to see. We all sat in the
kitchen with our tea. When the baptism was over, we all went
back to the farm house. I really felt a lot of love from this
family. We all hugged each other upon leaving. I’m so happy
to have a terrific son and daughter-in-law and feel that Hailey
has been blessed with a loving family. God bless her.

Sun Safety Tips! You can protect you family and still have fun un-
der the sun.
Cover up. Wear light— coloured, long-sleeved shirts, pants, and a
wide-brimmed hat made from breathable fabric. When you buy
sunglasses, make sure they provide protection against both UVA,
UVB & UVC rays.
Limit your time in the sun. Keep out of the sun and heat between
11AM and 4PM. When your shadow is shorter than you, the sun is
very strong. Look for places with lots of shade, like a park with
big trees, partial roofs, awnings, umbrellas or gazebo tents. Al-
ways take an umbrella to the beach.
Use sunscreen. Put sunscreen on when the UV index is 3 or more.
Drink plenty of cool liquids (especially water) before you feel
thirsty. If sunny days are also hot and humid, stay cool and hy-
drated to avoid heat illness. Dehydration (not having enough flu-
ids in your body) is dangerous, and thirst is not a good indicator
of dehydration.
